I wouldn't put it past Devos to have told the Nets to go screw themselves. At this point, I reckon he has had it with players demanding to go wherever they want.

What incentive does Devos have in actually trading Dwight to the Nets? None. He can force Dwight to sit out the year and still be no worse for wear than if he did trade Dwight to the Nets. Magic will suck either way and may get a better Draft Pick by forcing Dwight to walk. Don't give Dwight his cake and let him eat it too. Especially, after he insults the owners and fans of Orlando.

By the time we're ready to compete again, Nelson will be retired. It's not Rob's fault but he's certainly piling on here. A better turnaround here would have been to trade Dwight for Bynum trade everything else away for expirings, get a solid lotto pick, and sign a few free agents with your cap space.

Bynum
BBD
FA (Josh Smith)
Lotto pick (Shabazz)
FA (Monta)

That sounds like a good rebuild plan.

I don't even know how that is possible. They would have to send back 20 million in contracts to us (Lopez resigned, KH resigned and Brooks).

i like the jameer resigning. with the way everyone is getting paid there was no way to get a starting pg for under 7 mil at 4 years.

FWIW - Your opinion of the situation doesn't qualify as a factual source.

The fact that there isn't a single link, source or tweet about ANY other team wanting, going after or showing interest in Jameer says it all. Show me one and I'll back track my statement.

I just hope his money isn't 3 years, $19M. Please tell me that ain't so.

In the other thread there's an on radio report that Portland inquired about Jameer.

Damian Lillard says Hi. Portland wasn't going to give him $20M. You know that. We paid him out of loyalty and desperation. I just hope it was extremely front loaded like you said in the other thread.

He also mentions the lakers again. If we're going to trade between those two, it better be for Bynum. Nets haul is utter garbage.

Also says Lakers are in play and both are trying to find a 3rd team to take JRich and/or Turk.

The Nets haul wouldn't be so bad if not for the contracts they would be sending back. KH and Lopez would have to be resigned and you know both will want long term deals.

Obviously getting Bynum is the only to go. He is the 2nd best center in the league and we can build around him easily IMO.

I will start up the fire Hennigan thread if our team looks like this next year:

Lopez (at $10 mil per)
Humphries (at $8 mil per)
Hedo
JRich
Jameer

At least our 2003 team had TMac to entertain us...

I have been saying for while that the Nets and/or Lakers will need to find a 3rd team to take our players and give us back some pieces besides what they are offering.

Pimp - If you don't mind me asking, when was it that your mind changed and you no longer thought that, or wanted Dwight to be here?

Also, what do you mean by insult the owners? Was there something specific I missed or just this whole Dwightmare?

Wait, could Brooklyn sign Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries to each one year at $20M each? Then we could take MarShon Brooks, picks, cap relief and give them Howard, Turkoglu, Duhon, J-Rich, and Q-Rich.

that would work short term wise but who do we sign to fill in the depth and bench? sutton, Wayns westbrook would be good on the bench but other than that?

We could use our MLE for a player and sign him to a one year contract. We would suck during that year, but we'd get a high draft pick and some serious cap space.

that wouldnt be bad IMO, we would have tons of space next offseason and if they threw in 3 or 4 future picks I could get behind that, sign JoshSmith/Iggy/Monta next summer and be bad enough this year to get a very high lottery pick Neal/Shabaz
