Ben Gordon ain't starting as he has never been a full time starter in his entire career. He is, has been and will be a career bench player.

Don't know about y'all but I'm rooting against Smart and Exum from now until they both retire. It would make feel feel a hell of a lot better if the both of them end up being busts lol

No. They wanted the first from us. Would have been Afflalo + 1st for Barnes.

We didn't trade Afflalo so that someone older could start in his place. They want the young guys to start and get a lot of minutes, Gordon is just a veteran presence to come off the bench, that's all he is, doesn't matter how much he is paid. I mean don't you think the Magic would have just paid Jameer if they wanted a veteran to start? I'm still convinced Dipo and Fournier will be the starting guards, with a chance that Payton takes over starting at Point Guard later on in the year.
once again minutes are earned not just given out. Fournier isnt getting the starting role just because hes younger.

Well in case you didn't notice, Oladipo is the only returning guard on this team. So nobody has earned a starting guard spot beside him. So are you saying Gordon should be the starter just because he's older? All I'm saying is Fournier makes the most sense. Obviously my opinion on him starting comes from the belief that he will perform well enough in training camp to win that starting spot, but I still believe it's his spot to lose unless they are set on Payton starting, which I don't think they want and will bring him along slowly.

I mean do you really think the plan is to start Gordon? This team has been turned over to the youth, if they wanted a vet starting then why not keep Affalo or Jameer. It's either going to be Payton or Fournier starting with Oladipo, and I don't see any reason to believe otherwise. So therefore, since Payton most likely will be brought along slowly, Fournier should be the starter. Yes he still has to earn it, but I don't see any reason to think he wont.

Would you guys trade for Jarret Jack? Not a bad player to have, can start until Payton gets comfortable

Why would you have to play him? His value is that at mid season he's an expiring $4.5m trade ballast that the Magic will have paid most of the $. At the next draft he is a $4.5 million contract that can be traded for and waived days later for zero cost and quick painless cap clearance.

You don't know if that's his only purpose while here.

Yea, I don't know that, its just my speculation. He did work out for the Magic and he does have a skillset needed.

But, he does have to beat out three guards for minutes though. Personally I don't think he has enough to take minutes from Dipo or Fournier. Payton is the only other point guard on the roster - so its very doubtful he takes any substantial minutes from Payton at point. Chicago and Detroit experimented with Gordon at point to very unsuccessful results.

If anything I see him paired with Payton in the second unit (for 10-15mpg at best). But to take those minutes he'll have to compete with Harkless who will also be desperately fighting for minutes as well. He'll also have to beat out solid veteran back up guard Green; and possibly also have to beat out the young legs of Marble who looks to be a pretty versatile offensive threat thus far.

No one has really seen him play in meaningful minutes for a couple of years so I guess anything is possible. I think he'll get an honest chance for minutes but he has some pretty high hurdles to jump to do so.

The more I think about it.. I want David Lee on this team if we can get him cheap. If we can pry our way into the Warriors Wovles trade for Love we could send Nicholson to the Wolves and eat Lees contract. I get that him and Vuc aren't a great pair on the defensive end but that's looking at the glass half empty. We could potentially be one of the 5 best rebounding teams In the league and Lee is a "Henny guy" through and through. This would officially put us in position to compete for a playoff spot and the best part about the trade is Lee becomes a valuable expiring contract next summer.

Dipo/Payton/Curry
Fournier/B.Gordon/Marble/Green
Harkless/(6th man)Tobias/A.Gordon
Lee/Tobias/KO/Gordon
Vuc/KO/Lee/Deadmond

I will actually shock a lot of my friends if they knew I was about to say this. If LeBron goes back to Cleveland I will root for him and them to win a championship next year. (Be sweet if they picked up Meer as a back up and he got a ring, give me even more incentive to root for them).

If he does go back, I think it's because Cleveland has a deal lined up to get Love from the T'Wolves. Love, Irving and LeBron is enough to contend in the weak East tomorrow. Everyone will think LeBron is being nostalgic and he just wants to come home but if they get Love to it's actually the right move for his future. The Heat will probably contend next year because the East is so weak but if he wants to contend for 5 or so more years going to Cleveland because Love will be there is the savvy move.

I'd also for selfish reasons like to see Wiggins go to Minnesota in that case because he has the potential to be a megastar in the league and playing 3rd fiddle behind LeBron and Irving would be no fun for me. Whether Wiggins reaches his potential or not I want to see him get a chance too. Him catching lobs from Rubio would be fun. I think he eventually ends up in Toronto anyways so Cavs would be smart to get rid of him, the Wolves aren't trading him to Cleveland without Wiggins in the deal anyways.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

Just thinking about all the craziness that would ensue if Lebron goes back to Cleveland is exciting. To think of the moves they must have promised him. Have a feeling this face-to-face with Riley is his decision to leave. He's done it the best he can with free agency compared to last time. He's got his agent and personal team meeting secretly with other teams, Lebron is basically AWOL right now and everyone is gossiping about Melo hanging out with Kobe in LA.

Not sure how much it matters to us if he goes to the Cavs or elsewhere in the East. Woj just saying now Cavs are trying to clear space to sign Lebron.

Get ready for montages of LeBron and Diddy's "Coming Home" song. That song seems like it was written for this occasion ha.

I'm pretty sure Wiggins will be traded for Love if LeBron heads back. Irving, Love and LeBron contend tomorrow. Now if they can just get Meer in there I'd definitely root for them.

The only thing missing from that dunk is jumping over the tall white guy like Vince Carter did! He prolly could do it amazing hops
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

As for now, you can be sure, he's gonna be our starting PG (provided that we are done signing players with significance). We may add Marble, Osby and Curry from the Summer League to fill out the roster, but I'd rather take a look at some veteran presence at PG indeed.

Oladipo/Payton
Fourner/Gordon/Green
Harris/Harkless
O'Quinn/Gordon/Nicholson
Vucevic/Dedmon
