its just one game and people already acting like he is a bust while in some homer cases if it was about our player same people would say its only 2nd 3rd 4th year ...we need to see more he is young etc he will be better..... (really no specific player in mind just saying what Ive heard on this board for years) but no
Young sucked game 1... he is a finished project a bust hahaha srsly you guys always make me smile :)

Him sucking now is continuation of him sucking at college. He was shooting 36% FG last month and half or so of his college career. People figured that once you pressure him with full court press he has no stamina or skills to be effective in any way. Just like people figured Lonzo can't shoot and you can go under screen 2 games into his summer league "nba career". Lonzo won MVP of summer league award despite shooting 38% FG and 23% for 3. Just like in SL, that translated to nba later.

Btw props to JJJ who menaged to commit ZERO fouls

Lonozo's was a joke, he had the one big scoring games vs i think philly with a roster that would be bad by g league standards. Kuzma was the real mvp of vegas.

I wouldn't be so harsh on trae, he made some nice plays and set up others well, got to the line well and we know his shot will eventually come good. Trading doncic for him is unjustifiable though i don't see any reality where that isn't mocked in 5 years time but still if we'd taken him at 6 i think he's a solid prospect. I'm not sad about taking Bamba though fit isn't as good but he's probably a better long term prospect

Atlanta is horrible spot for him. They have no talent whatsoever . Doncic is lucky to duck that bullet.
Young will be runned to the ground by nba defense in rookie year, until they add some talent.

29pts, 3Reb, 2blks in 23 minutes.

The shot looks quick and accurate. I know you were joking, but I have mentioned that JJJs shooting form looks similar to Curry/ Young with the quick low release. Just the first game of summer league game, but quite a statement. Modern center.

It will be very interesting if the mass of JJJ haters on this board show themselves again or simply fade away as usual.

G: Frazier
F: Iwundu
F: Isaac
C: Bamba

Length City as Dickie V might say lol. We'll get a look at what offense and defense the new coaching staff is going to implement too though probably on a very basic level.

This is really a huge summer league opportunity for Caupain and Briscoe.

Bamba, Isaac, Birch, Iwundu and Frazier are going to be on the opening night roster regardless. But the Magic, to date, have just one point guard under contract.

Feels like those two kids could be battling for the 3rd string PG role, or at least one of the two-way contracts.

Yeah been plenty of guys that didn't have great first summer league games. He looked pretty small to me compared to everyone else is what I noticed.

How about this posterization by Bagley on Wagner? Wagner didn't watch enough Major League 2. Stay off the tracks when the train is coming through.....lol.

There were about 7 or 8 names that everyone should have been at least okay with at #6. JJ was right in the middle of that group.

Carter was the only widely discussed name I didn’t want at 6. Maybe I end up being wrong but I just don’t see more than a strong role player there.

I'll take the L for Young's first debut, but I'll also take wins for Bagley and JJJ then. :D

Yeah, I didn't want Carter, Porter or Ayton (maybe I'm crazy). Only time will tell.

Aside from Bamba, anyone else you guys are specifically looking out for in summer league?

I was hoping Doncic would play, but i’d definitely follow WCJ, Shai and Mitchell Robinson.

Bagleyms game was nice although doesnt appeal to me, but watching deaaron fox was breaking my neck. That speed is incredible.

lol at people ganging up on trae young after one game

but if bamba struggles to do well on his first game people will be like "its just one game, its just summer league".

I'm sure the Magic are saving at least 1 roster spot for someone on the summer league team to show out and earn a roster spot come opening day. If they are saving 2 or more spots from our summer league team, This could be why we haven't signed anybody outside Aaron Gordon.
