Keep an eye on this kid. I think he could very much be in the mix for the Magic in the lottery.

Saw him skyrocket on nbadraft.net too. More options the better. Hopefully someone decent is still on the board by the time we pick.

I've been really enjoying Ja Morant play. And his name is awesome.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a STUD.... considering we likely will be drafting 8-15 would definitely take a look at him.

10-17, 2-4 from 3 and 3-3 from FT line. Put up a 25 3 & 7 game vs Purdue last night and made some unreal shots.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I can only find highlights of the shooting (which does look good). Do you have a link where it shows the assists he made?

If the season ended today, the Magic draft 16th. Darius Garland, PG of Vanderbilt is a potential pick in that range.

Duke vs Gonzaga was nuts!! :o Zags lead almost the entire game, Duke nearly came back from down 16 points. Zags survive 4 straight missed FTs, and beat Duke 89-87.

I think you have to call a foul on one of Barrett's final 3 drives to the basket, during the final 30 seconds.

Zags have some good players Hachimura, Norvell Jr and Clarke.

I think the Magic will settle into that 7-10 range. If they get lucky in the lotto with the new odds, awesome. If not, that’s ok too.

Should be several really good players that can help them a lot around there.

Draft is pretty deep on wings.

Rui is planting his name firmly and moving up the boards after this performance on the big stage!

Trade the pick this year for a PG upgrade.

Ja Morant just dropped 38 on Alabama. Read what coach Avery Johnson said about this kid.

ESPN just updated their big board. Zion overtakes Barrett as the No. 1 player.

Nickeil Walker-Alexander up from 26th to 17th. Kevin Porter up from 21st to 9th.

Grimes has fallen to 12th.

Hell, using the pick would give us an upgrade immediately if we took either the PG out of Murray State or Vandy.

Here's Morant's full game from last night...

A lot to like with this kid.

He's extremely athletic with a really good handle. His hesitation dribble pretty much allows him to get to any spot he wants on the floor and he appears to be athletic enough to finish effectively and draw fouls. He's also a very willing and smart passer, especially in drive and kick and drive and drop off scenarios.

He's also very young for a sophomore. Just turned 19 years in August. He's actually only a month older than Cam Reddish and 3 months older than Bol Bol despite having a full year extra of experience.

My two biggest fears right now with Morant...

1. He's so skinny that he just gets destroyed defensively on almost all screens. His legs look spindly and I'm not sure how much good weight he can really put on. Plus he carries such a tremendous burden for his team offensively that they full blown try and hide him defensively to conserve energy. I could see him being a total mess on the defensive end for a while once he reaches the pros.

2. His jumper... I just don't know yet. His form is absolutely not broken, but it looks like he has to put in a LOT of lower body effort just to extend out his range right now. His FT stroke gives me hope that he'll be able to develop that sort of consistent NBA range, but it might take a couple of not so great years for him to really dial in that NBA range.

All in all, I really like this kid's game. and think he's a sure fire lottery pick.

If the Magic miss the playoffs, he's definitely my No. 1 target in that 7 to 14 range right now.

A long way to go, but I wouldn't be surprised if Morant plays himself into a top 6 pick. This class is very weak at PG and the front runner for top PG in this class, is not out for the year, Darius Garland.

I think Morant has a great chance to be the first PG picked, but several teams in the league league have invested in young PGs recently.

Atlanta has Young. Cleveland has Sexton. Dallas has Smith Jr. Sacramento has Fox. LA Clippers have SGA.

Phoenix needs a PG, but they'll probably be in the top 4 for one of the Duke kids.

The Knicks, Bulls, Heat and Nets could all be interested in PGs depending on how they plan to attack free agency.

I think Orlando could get Morant in the 7-14 range just because not a lot of teams desperately need PGs.

Morant's turnover numbers are a bit concerning
