Just make it sure when you go through mocks that it's guy with this atributes:
not ballhandler
not shooter
has no baksetball skills

Starters were awesome and the bench sucked.

The Magic is currently the #9 seed.

This draft doesnt seem particulary strong after top 5. More i look at the mocks, more i think purposefully losing this year is a bad idea. Yes depending on offers i would consider moving from AG or Fournier, but not for a late frp.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

We can leveradge mid first round/late picks, combine with ours and move up if we fall to let's say 9th slot.
Amount of first round picks that is being traded is out of this world. It's clear that some teams will be powerhouses when it comes to assets for future superstars. Magic , once again, won't. As we, as usual, don't leverage anything.

It's usually extremely difficult to move up into the elite part of a draft. Last year people thought it might happen because it was such a weak draft, and teams that want to win now at the top, and still no moves.
We will not be be able to move up in this draft unless we are giving up things like unprotected future firsts, and even then it is doubtful we would be able to move up to the top tiers, depending on how far down we are.

I thought Evan had secured the loss for us with his inexplicable decision to pass on the open 3 and give it to AG instead, but then the classic Wolves choke happened. They are bigger losers than we are by some margin.
At least Cole got his moment of glory and a confidence boost, this may well be worth it one more win. At least I hope so, but knowing our luck, we'd probably miss on a franchise player because of one win, just like it happened in 2015 and 2018.
We need to trade Evan ASAP to tank, he'd walk anyway, and he'd help us get some wins we don't want. Without him and with Fultz out we just don't have an NBA level offense, not even a subpar one, it's just horrendous stuff.

Big cojones on Cole with those 2 big 3s. That last one was a classic.

I mean the Magic only mustered a 100.5 ORTG against a team allowing a 113.0 DRTG on the year, so it's not like their offense exploded when Fournier came back anyway

We had 119 ORTG when Fournier was on the court yesterday, this is too high for tanking purposes.

There are some winnable games in our next 10 or so. Double header with the Hornets (6-8), Raptors (5-8), and the Bulls (6-8). We play the Kings somewhere in that stretch as well.
If we are hovering around .500 by the end of it do not be surprised if we push the chips in and make a move. Weltman should start to get desperate here soon.
I for one think we are still one of the worst teams in the league and should fair poorly regardless of the bad teams we play.
I’m expecting to be 8-10 games under .500 by the 30 game mark.

Hope you're joking, beating the worst team in the league by 1 point should not give anyone much confidence of winning too many games

This tanking s**t is so tired. Should Cole have purposely missed? Players and coaches don’t tank-ever. If FO decides we’re floundering or in limbo, it’s only on them. You take a risk like Wiggins and MIN pick that will hurt for now but pay in 2 yrs...or, maybe Wiggins goes crazy, leads the East in scoring, and proves to be a perfect front court partner with Isaac. Either outcome is playable...you dont purposely give away talent just to suck your way into the lottery crapshoot any more than you wish your rookie missed a shot...if Cole misses you guys skewer his “chucking”, if he hits you cry about winning. The internet has surely changed the definition of “fan”.

Not sure if I'm included in this list, especially since I've been and still am against the tank under normal circumstances. Everyone here knows where I stand in terms of tanking. But these aren't normal circumstances with all the major injuries.
We have to lose this season thanks to the Fultz and Isaac injuries. If Fultz were still healthy, I'd love to keep trying to win and see where we end up. But he isn't. So we shouldn't. We have no cap space and no healthy assets outside of AG. We can only currently improve through the draft this season.
We also have one of, if not the worst, FO in the entire league who refuses to take risks or make any moves. The only moves they've made were inoffensive cheap signings/trades. They made their first round picks and have traded almost every second rounder because they refuse to get off their asses and actually scout second round talent. They've done nothing to move the needle outside of drafting an oft-injured Isaac, and made one great and cheap trade to take a flyer on a very talented, but very flawed Fultz. Those are the only two positives you can point to from their resume with us. That's sad.
We have no other options outside of fire them, firesale trades, risk taking trades, or tanking with the roster we have. The risk taking just will not happens with these monkeys in the FO, so any one of those other 3 options needs to happen. I'm tired of the Bucks eating us alive in the first round.

With our current rosters injuries, those 4 teams you listed are clearly better than us. I hope every single one pounds us by 30 so it gets the FO thinking. That isn't likely though only due to how good Vuc, Fournier, and AG are. Also how well coached this team is. Unforunately, I see us ending up around the 10th-11th seed and getting an irrelevant draft spot this year.

This.
I’m not entirely sure how this isn’t the takeaway from Orlando’s current situation.
Nobody actually believes this FO will “tank” the season actively. However, people should be pissed off if they try to alleviate the situation they’ve caused by moving assets for a “playoffs or bust” scenario.
Not wanting pointless wins, over better draft odds, doesn’t mean people are advocating to play a starting lineup of G-League players on purpose. Orlando is bad enough with their only healthy options, but grinding out wins against teams the Magic will be competing with for top 3 isn’t ideal.

Agreed. The lack of effort from this front office is amazing. Say what you want about Hennigan but he tried to make changes even if they were awful he at least took a chance.
