Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
The only team that is actively tanking right now is Oklahoma City and maybe Houston.
Minnesota, Detroit, Cleveland, Washington and Orlando are all trying to win and don't have the talent to really consistently win.

Am I way off here?
Did Chicago feel bad for fleecing us and remove the 1-4 protections on their picks?
Well, no, but it is still chances at 1, if it conveys to Bulls, wouldn't we have assets like Ross, OPJ, Bacon, etc. to still trade up?
So it seems to me big picture, that we did a pretty great job to set us up with the most chances and possibly choices in the most highly regarded draft in a long time.
And thats not even onsidering keeping WCJ, as safeguard in case Bamba decides to bolt.

OKC won't get penalized for tanking either. Not sure why we don't do it. It's not more exciting to watch us scrap out a few more wins so we're out of the bottom 10.Knightro wrote:The only team that is actively tanking right now is Oklahoma City and maybe Houston.

OKC & GS have the same opportunity.
For us, Bulls would really have to tank HARD to get #5 placement, then we'd have to hope that only the teams above the Bulls move up. nearly impossible.

No you aren't as long as we all understand the word "shots" in this context. As with all lotto games, it is a chance.. big and small but still a chance. Compared to say LAL where their pick wont be in consideration in the lotto or with CHI where their pick is owned by us if it falls to #5 and above.

There is a thread on the T&T boards feel free to read it. Most teams wouldn't trade down for SGA and Wiseman. You think they would trade down for BACON LOL

I thought everyone loves bacon!
Sorry couldn't resist, but you know we have more than just Bacon to dangle at the draft.

Wolves defeat the Bulls.
Win No. 14 for the Wolves. Bulls remain in the 10th spot.

Refs made a bad call on Siakam or they had a chance to tie it with less than 10 seconds.

It will likely be a loss but Detroit will lead going into the 4th against the Clippers. It would be huge for us if they could somehow hold on.

Rest of the Month
Vs San Antonio(Loss)
@ Chicago(Loss)
@ Toronto(50/50)
Vs Houston(50/50)
@ Atlanta(Loss)
Vs Pelicans(Loss)
Vs Indiana(Loss)
Vs Lakers (Loss)
@ Cleveland(50/50)
@ Memphis(Loss)
If we keep shooting like we're shooting(inconsistent) then i think for the next 10 there is 3 possible wins.....now of course things change if teams are "resting" players against us but our tank should be in good shape

Bruh, if we got a Top 4 pick and Chicago got the 5th pick and had to give it to us that would be craaaaaaaaaaaazy.

I'll spend the evening of the draft with Chloe Bennet if that happens.

Welp that doesn't look like a particularly strong strength of schedule; hopefully this Bucks game was a good indicator of how cold/bad we're gonna be. Realistically the one team we're never gonna catch is Houston, so we need Detroit to win 2 more games than us or Minnesota to win 4 more games than us. Both are hard, but possible. The Wolves at least have some talent and iirc their schedule to end the season wasn't too brutal.
If either happens we'll have a bottom 3 record and the accompanying maximized chance on receiving the #1 or at least a top-4 pick.
edit: according to this article LeBron will still be out when the Lakers come to town, so considering our tendency to play them pretty tough, a win doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, imo (link).

Not really strong but i am not as worried as i used to be....because i think our shooting is coming back to the mean....i mean we don't usually shoot as well as we have been but how we've been shooting in recent games is more like how we really shoot more or less....so with our inconsistent shooting combined against teams with either a legit star(s) legit shooting or is well coached i think we lose those games....the only teams i'm questionable about is the teams that may be tanking along with us....

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
Big win for Minny! They're such a wildcard team with DLo. Looking at the remaining schedule, there's a chance that we can jump Pistons & Minny. ESPECIALLY with more shooting performances like last night.

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
We play Minnesota and Detroit still, so if we lose the rest of the games, we might get to the bottom 2.
