A few years ago I watched a YouTube clip of Antawn Jamison explains how he and Mosley were talking about how some of their players couldn’t do the most basic basketball fundaments. He was specifically talking about screens but I can see boxing out as a fundamental a lot of players don’t have.

Blame rebounding all you want, and yes, it was a huge problem… but the bigger issue is this terrible offense. You are not going to win an NBA game with 77 points late in the 4th quarter in 2025.

The roster AND coaching can be terrible at the same time.

Until they put a roster around Paolo, Suggs, and Franz I can’t assess how Mose is doing as a coach. Clearly the pieces don’t match.

This is essentially the same roster as last year's 47 win team is it not?

The fact that they haven't played great defense or great on the glass for months is the far bigger concern.

The message isn't getting through anymore.

And if that can all be explained away by Suggs (and to a lesser extent Moritz) then Mosley needs to go anyway because your whole thing can't collapse missing two role players when you still have two max contract guys playing 38 MPG.

I will agree the defense has slipped however this team is different. Besides the injuries to key players like Moe and Suggs, the bench is completely different. The bench, in combination with the defense, was why the Magic were so good last year. Then you have guys like JI, Harris, Goga, Black, who seemed to have forgotten how to play basketball.

Part of me wants to say that the magic role players played over their heads last year but I can’t blame that on Mose.
