Would you do Isaac and Ross?

I know JI is a great defensive player, he's young and a good guy. But between injuries and the relative value of a defensive big versus an offensive wing/creator, i think it'd be worth pulling the trigger.

Isaac would fit great with Zion and Ross would give back some scoring. We'd FINALLY get a great young SF.

In a heartbeat. Doubt most would do this on the Magic board or on Magic Twitter, but Ingram’s value right now far outweighs Isaac’s imo.

That's a tough one but I think that I would say no. Not that I don't like Ingram but he is not a #1 option. I would rather gamble on JI's health as he is an absolute game changer when healthy. And if he's not healthy, we won't win meaningless games without him. I would worry about being stuck in mediocrity ala the Vuc era with Ingram.

i really think this is overstated when talking about Isaac. is he a defensive presence? yes. but is he really a game changer? i dont believe so.

So, I don't know how true this is and I wouldn't take this as anything more than gossip:

I have a few friends in the Akron area that I have known for a long time, one of them is a well connected lawyer in the area and he was telling me that he was at dinner with some people from a certain basketball organization and mentioned that the only interesting tidbit of basketball conversation he had with them was one of them mentioned Scottie Barnes' camp was loose on working out with them because they had a "home-town guarantee".

Like I said, could just be gossip with people that don't know any better, but I am not sure I want this team drafting AG version 2.1. Unless it was with the 8? Maybe? Still yuck.

I disagree. The problem is that JI is not an offensive savant and we had to rely on Vuc, Evan, and AG to convert on offense after defensive gems from JI.

Weltman drafted JI and Bamba. Drafting Barnes would shock no one.

I think Barnes is opposite of AG in the sense that he knows his role and wants to be elite at it. AG was dead set on trying to prove he's more than what he really is.

With that said...sigh.

Appreciate the tidbit of gossip. I always appreciate hearing what's out there.

I LOVE Isaac and what he brings but I pack his bags for Ingram. Together, they'd be an awesome young forward combo. Perfectly complementary. Maybe picks(5 and CHI 23) and bodies (Harris and Ross?) for Ingram?

Trading for Brandon Ingram and keeping Isaac is interesting, How about:

#5, #8, G Harris, Mo Bamba for B. Ingram, #10 ?

Fair trade ? Who says no ?

Who would you draft at #10 Moody/Sengun/Krispert ?
Who at #33 Juzang/ Garza/ Kessler Edwards ?

Cole/Hampton/(Fultz IR)
Ingram/ TRoss
Chuma/#33 Juzang
Isaac/ Wagner
WCjr/Sengun

Ingram is strictly a sf type of wing. Take moody and Garza

Cole/Hampton
Moody/Ross/hampton
Ingram/okeke/ross
Issac/Wagner/okeke
Carter/Wagner/garza

Agree 100%. This is what ive been saying for years, yes he makes a difference on defense, but hes just a guy on offense, and so hes really only effecting half the court, and the wins\losses dont change much when he plays(which is rare)

If given the chance, id pull the trigger on an ingram\isaac deal so quick, especially if we could do it without giving up draft picks.

If the deal is straight up 1 for 1, its such an easy decision

I like Kuminga but I am afraid he might be picked before 5.

I am open to a trade also if we can land a star with our 2 lottery picks.

if hes gone before 5, then thats a win for us, that means that mobley or suggs fell, and those are 3 and 4 on my board

gotta ask, is Barnes a native-Orlando? I mean I know he plays Florida in the ncaa and all but that doesn't mean that's home-town guarantee where you spent a couple of months playing college ball

I went back and forth with your lineup and the one I chose but my Chuma homerism got the best of me !

Either way I love the length, versatility and two way potential of our 2,3 and 4 group after this hypothetical trade.

ask yourself. New Orleans has to keep Zion happy. you would trade their 2nd best player away for a gamble on the draft? wont happen

I feel like Zion would be better off surrounded with shooters, defenders and another high level playmaker Moreso than an additional high level/ high usage scorer in Brandon Ingram.

Humor me for a minute. If the Pels drafted Suggs at 5 and Moody at 8 to go along with Bamba and Gary Harris doesn’t that sound like a better supporting cast to Zion than Ingram and #10 ?

A lineup of:

Suggs/Naw
Harris/Moody
Alonzo/Hart
Zion
Bamba/Jax Hayes

Provides Zion with two 3 and D
Guys in Moody and Harris, a floor spacing rim protecting Center in Bamba and a scoring, playmaking and defending point guard in Suggs.

Whereas we have a team full of support players and need to find a star scorer.
