Then they'll just play more 1 big lineups.

To me, it's very simple. The Pacers shot the 3 as well as they could possibly shoot it and the Cavs shot the 3 as poorly as they could possibly shoot it and it was still a tight 3-4 point game game with 4 minutes left.

Umm ......

The dude won multiple championships with multiple teams; the only player in league history to do that. So, yeh, Smith would be luck to have that sort of career.

If the Pacers keep getting open shots, they'll keep making them. Carlisle is good at rotating players so they can keep pushing the ball before the Cavs can set their defense.

Cavs will probably get Garland back at some point. I'm not worried about Cavs just yet. Pacers got better from last year.

Even Cavs fans don't think Mitchell will hold up for a 7 game track meet. He was already grabbing his ankle a few times last night. Garland has an injury to his big toe like Cole did. Turf toe can go away in a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

Watching the Pacers guards tear up the Cavs defense makes me think we've been missing out when we play them because we don't have guards to exploit their weakness.

Mitchell isn't on the injury report, but Mobley, Garland, and Hunter are questionable.

Just to counterpoint my own general impression...Maybe WCJ is really exceptional in his ability to guard guards...we all know he's good, but maybe he's more than just good (at that). When opposing guards get stifled, our guards generally get all of the credit, even in this age of constant switching.

I'm excited about Isaac being so upfront about the failed weight gain project...I really hope he returns to previous form as the longest, switchiest, most disruptive perimeter defender around.

Knicks can't match C's offense either imo, and they don't come close to our defense. I think C's win this in 5.

The most 3s attempted we allowed in the series against the Celtics was 37. They are already up to 42 heading into the 4th quarter. I really didn’t realize how many 3s that team shot. I know they averaged 50 3s in the regular season but my goodness, that’s a lot.

Feels like they've made a ton of 3's but the score isn't that high

Boston 25% from 3 New York 46%. Both east games felt like random 3 variance maybe was the driver, but I wouldn't mind if it keeps playing out like that.

Boston rebounding was keeping them in the game despite the horrid shooting. 11 from Derrick White and 5 offensive boards from Jrue including a huge one in OT. Some good guard rebounding production, not to mention Hart on the other side.

They shot a ton of 3s for sure though. 15/60 for the Celtics and 17/37 for the Knicks.

97 3s in a 53 minute game.

Soooo... this is the modern NBA. Even if you were built like the 70wins Bulls or Warriors, if you meet any NBA team on a given night and that team just makes theirs while you abnormally don't, you will lose the game.

No details as of yet. He had a viral infection a few weeks ago, so maybe this is related.

I missed most of the game, but most of the Celtics three’s I saw were contested. I wonder how much KP’s absence hurt the Celtics. He was crucial to their game four win against us.
