I'm curious to see, if we play the same style, just without Vuc. Still the slowest pace in the leaque or if we try to run a bit more. But expect same pace tbh.

Ewwww Iwundu.

Honestly I'd start Ross next to Fournier and stagger the lineups. But I know starting Ross is sacrilegious. I think it'd be best for Isaac/Fultz right now though.

I actually like Wes upside in the starting lineup, slide Isaac to the 4 along side Birch.

Still have depth with Ross/Aminu coming off the bench.

Bamba will be gone by deadline.

Barf. Aminu plays so much better with that starting unit then he does coming off the bench.

I don't know who the hell would take Bamba at this point but if some fool team makes an offer, take it and run. The Knicks seem like they need a good novelty act to deflect from their internal issues. Offer Mo for Bobby "Punchy" Portis.

I'm actually surprised Cliff isn't trying Aminu at C in replace of Vuc. His passing recently has been impressive, and he seems strong enough to bang in the middle against most bigs, and he's capable of hitting the 3. Feels like he could've plugged him in for that at least to continue with the system they've been running, but just not with the expectation of making shots and giving us offense beyond assists, rebounds and maybe some spacing.

Could've done the same with Isaac, too, but I'd imagine they'll want to protect him a bit from any excessive banging in the post since he's recovering from injury himself and the team can't afford to lose more bodies.

But if we bring Aminu and/or Ross into the SL, just knowing Cliff's rotations, that bench unit would suuuuuuuck. So we're kinda limited in what we can do.

Birch
Isaac
Iwundu
Fournier
Fultz

Gulp... C'mon Fultz and Isaac!

You can't run everything through fournier, so we should be seeing more fultz and issac but with Clifford you never know.

I actually think Cook fits you guys decently well. More shooting. He has also gotten off to a bit of a rocky shooting start, but over 40% last few yrs

Fultz should be getting most of the time rn

For this trade, it isn't worth it.
1. DJ is loved by his fellow players, and is a leader in the club house
2. Cook wouldn't know coach's defense, which isn't simple

To trade DJ this early, and not being out of the playoff race, it'd have to be for something quality (young player, or 1st rd)
right now the LAL 2nd rounder would be the last pick of the draft.

DJ does not have the value of a decent young player or 1st rounder is the issue and he's only getting older. Fultz is the future here. Now, maybe he wouldn't be traded until Markelle's minute restrictions are lifted, but DJ absolutely needs to be an upgrade next season, so getting him for any kind of return would be decent, more so if we're way out of the playoffs (which is hard in the East), but yeah, he's getting overrated big time.

The back up PG role for our roster requires an on-ball creator type PG, someone who can drive and create for themselves and others. Unless coaches haven't let him play that role in the past, then that's not Cook.

If Cook is your back up PG, who is the primary creator off the bench: Ross, Aminu, Okeke, Bamba? Point Gordon lmao?

DJ isn't getting overrated "big time," he's just not getting undervalued in a transaction that nets guaranteed salary for a player who really doesn't fill the role.

Cook isn't a bad player to have on your bench. But he's not somebody I disrupt the team for, especially since DJ can more than likely be retained for cheap as the 3d PG this summer.

DJ might be older, but he has also been better. Here are their past 3 seasons. DJ's numbers are almost entirely vs starting units, Cook's are vs benches, often in garbage time.

I would trade Augustin right now to get Horton-Tucker.

No interest in just Cook and a 2nd.

Give me Cook and THT and you have a deal.

Same. I like the kid.

He’s a very good defender and we could clearly see his growth last year when he played consistently. I think he got better over the summer and I want to see how he’ll do with solid minutes over a stretch.

Aaron Gordon has been the most disappointing. He is entering his prime + is being given a ton of volume (20.1 USG) again.

...I know some don't like MCW, but I really like the impact he has when he's on the floor. He just makes good plays and changes the demeanor of the game.

AG is having a disappointing season because for some reason his focus is not primarily on the things he does really well. I'm all for working on and expanding your game, but your bread and butter should always be what you are naturally good at. I don't know whether to blame AG or the coaching.

...remember this summer when I got a ton of s**t for being critical of AG saying he was focusing his off-season routine on improving his post-up game? Good times.

Clifford isn't telling AG not to attack the basket or cut to rim for his opportunities. He's not telling him to wave of screens, or to probe and pound until its too obvious he can't break down set defense. He can be a very good player, even an all-star, but that won't happen until he realizes what he's actually good at and trims out the waste.

The blame is on AG. It's been established for a few years now that AG prefers to play to his weaknesses. Henny and Weltman have both said he thinks of himself as a SF and we all know that's just wrong. Seems it's because he desperately wants to be a star and in his mind that's having the ball in his hands on the perimeter and taking tough shots. I had hope he was going to buy into being more of a passer with how he started playing late last season, but it seems he's still chasing stars and I'm not sure he's going to change that mindset while on the Magic.

This gif sums up AG's attitude this season...

Steals uncontested rebound from our best handler/driver/playmaker PG, dribbles down court, ignores screen from C, no desire to run a play or pass, takes early step back jumper... air ball.
