I still think we are better in that we have multiple stars and arguably very few holes compared to them…but you’re right that it’s at least now a valid conversation depending on which team can stay more healthy.

KP on their team makes me optimistic we will win that health battle. Hopefully that swanky practice facility keeps our players good to go.

They got nothin’ we would realistically want. We can’t afford the few pieces we would have interest in.

Agreed. The Lakers are likely to gamble on Ayton, which will be HIGH COMEDY when his effort falls off a cliff around game 10 of the season. Lebron will pay to have him thrown off a bridge.

I read that Kennard was doing his Gary Harris impression in that he passed so many wide open 3s just to protect his percentages..

Thing is though... i dont think ATL has anyone who can stop PB while we are built to stop guys like Trae.

But who knows. Te game dynamics will change now that both teams have new personnel.

Atlanta can get whoever they want. They still run everything through Trae.

We are better than Atlanta. Idk why this is being debated.

Had to log in to reiterate that no matter who Atlanta signs, we are better than those birds. Trae not scaring anyone.

Honestly, I love it for them. I was liking what they were building last season, and now they’re improving on that immensely. If any team has that Indiana wildcard potential it’s ATL.

Don't worry we have Goga to take care of Porzingis and the Hawks.

Ok this Atlanta **** is getting out of hand. When we kicked their ass and Trae threw a hissy fit everyone was laughing at them. Yea they didn’t have Johnson but we didn’t have Suggs. Now we add Bane and they add an aging Porzingis and I am supposed to be afraid? They added some shooters. They still can’t play defense and we can really attack Trae because he is so vulnerable on that end. No doubt they will be better but I am absolutely convinced we are better.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

They don't worry me one bit. Sure the magic will probably struggle with them in games (like they always have for years it seems now) but I'm not trusting KP to stay fully healthy a full season.

Good solid playoff team, but I still have the magic being significant better them. But again this comes down to healthy and Orlando's youth continue to excel and mesh with the new pieces.

I'm not scared, haven't been scared, and never will be scared of the Trae Young Atlanta Hawks. The only transaction that has truly moved me is the one they made to get the unprotected New Orleans first. That was an absolute fleecing and a real valued asset they picked up in a loaded draft class.

Outside of that, I think we have a favorable matchup against Atlanta. Our frontcourt overwhelmed Porzingis in the playoffs, and Franz/Banchero are easily the best two players in that series.

I'm going to be honest, I may still be on a bit of a high post Bane trade but I'm not afraid of a single soul in the EC next year. Paolo/Franz are two superstars I believe in, and I think Weltman, through trades, the draft, and now free agency, just addressed nearly every deficiency that has plagued us for years. I promise you, with our length, defense, wings, and defenders we can throw at Trae, that Orlando is not the team they will be circling as one they want to see in a 7-game series.

Speaking of Trae, did we not forget we just broke him in a playoff game, and he basically quit on his team? Lost quite a bit of respect tbh.

This is how I feel looking at how this team matches up against the other EC teams. It can go toe to toe with any of them.

I am afraid of one thing and one thing only…and I fear even speaking it into existence…but man Suggs’ injury history scares the living hell out of me. He is so key to what we are building and that body of his is like the tin man from the Wizard of Oz always needing oil to make his joints work.

That training staff has to let Suggs miss games if he is nursing an injury this season. Save him from himself so he is available in the postseason.

With the roster now much improved and our needs addressed, pressure now is on Mose. I expect a competitive 2nd round series now. ECF if we’re lucky.

Man… I said I was impressed by the Hawks’ summer and it has snowballed into ‘why are people afraid of the Hawks?!?’
