I just don't believe that the cure for this potential problem is more veterans. Mikal Bridges is an example of this. He is going to get paid because Phoenix is good when he is on the floor.

I think we have to draw a clear distinction between a player having a low usage rate and a player being a bad offensive player. If you give me a choice between a guy that shoots too much and a guy that doesn't shoot enough, I'm taking the latter as I find it far less egregious and far easier to correct.

I've made no secret of my belief that Fournier was what was rotten in our team chemistry. He's a veteran. I think it would be a terrible idea to add him to this roster. People talk about wanting an alpha to establish a hierarchy, but isn't that simply exacerbating the problem that we are discussing here? I think what you really hope for is that your best player is focused on team goals. If he is motivated by personal goals, then you have a problem.

Well you make great points but i looked at it from different angle. Its just hard to play good and instill good habits when no one knows what they are doing. You can be selfless but what if you screw every rotation ? In the end its propably mixture of both becouse there are veterans who cant execute gameplan ( Ross), and there are young players who can ( Okeke). Another point is that more seasoned player propably knows his place ( Gary Harris ), he will hold other guys accountable. Other players propably wont listen to a rookie or sophomore.

Fultz and Isaac are veterans, it is just their usage is limited given their slow entries to the NBA.

As the roster is currently constructed, that is the years-in the Magic will have starting by the ASW ; Feb 2022.
(Fultz / Harris / Isaac / Okeke / Carter)

Hat the Magic thus needs is not more veterans per se; what is needed is for all five starters to play 72+ games.

Yeah this is what happens when NBA players play with non-NBA people... you an see the talent and skill disparity.

Yah, yah, it was just more about him playing in this summer league. He did have a deep 3 pointer to tie the game at the buzzer, and then threw a lob from on an in-bounds for the game winner in OT.

This past decade of Magic basketball just has me sick of seeing gym videos. Idk how many videos I’ve seen of guys like AG or Bamba doing crazy **** in the gym only to get the same ol same ol on the court when the season starts. Does anyone remember when people would try and hype up Dwight’s FT improvements in the offseason and then get the same terrible shooting when it mattered?

No disrespect to RJ, I like him and his potential, but it’s because of what he showed on the court against other NBA players at the end of the season, not because he can light up his gardener at the gym.

I today’s pre draft pod squad with Matt loyd they asked him if RJ is taller he said he definitely is but is not sure if the 6’7” number is right

I can go back even further. Anyone remember what Bo Outlaw use to do in the summer league?

I don’t pay much mind to these vids.

I’m intrigued with RJ from what he did in game last season. I hope he can elevate. He has as much potential as anyone on our team IMO to do so.
