Both these trades put us in mediocrity. 1st option: Lopez is soft, and now he is injury prone. Brooks is ehhh ok but thats it. Okur is gone along with Humprhies next year anyways. NJ's draft picks suck if Dwight goes to that team. They are only 4 games or so out of the playoffs. You dont think Dwight will get them there?? i do. so scratch that. Option two: Bynum is a HUGE risk that is not worth taking. so you want him to have more touches and work harder on his already bum knees where he isnt the focal point on the offense and where Pau can help on rebounds??? Ok maybe Ryan can help out on rebounding, but Bynum as our workhorse is SUICIDE!!! he will break down by game 30. so scratch that.
The only option is to keep Dwight at hopes at a title this year. Suck next year and get a solid draft pick, trade Turk whose contract is more tradeable then, trade J rich now to Minny for cap relief, and try to sign a marquee FA in the offseason in 2013. THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION.
Thank you. Would not say it much different myself, except when it comes to Bynum. If the trade is there, I'd take it. Especially if they took Turk and Duhon. Why? Bynum has proven to be a great talent when healthy, and he's been healthy this year. There are definitely concerns. When I was watching the Laker game last night, there was a foul called when Bynum came down on a rebound and he wasn't touched hardly, and he planted awkwardly and his knee buckled n he just lumbered over. He didn't grab his knee or anything, but I thought he hurt something when he was on the ground for a noticeable period.
I'd take the risk. I think Dwight leaving is a little more likely to happen than Bynum suffering a injury riddled career from here on out. And say Bynum does sustain a serious injury, his contract doesn't go for much longer, if something horrible happens then we're in the same boat as we would if we lose Dwight outright. I wouldn't do the Nets trade. The Lakers I'd have to consider heavily.
