YBR Stuff.

YBR Firing Otis and Stan is a big step. Those are the guys he hate the most and they are gone. Also, what happend to all the loyalty stuff he was saying, was that all BS? If we bring in a solid gm and coach that he likes and still wants to leave. ORL will hate him more then Shaq, because of the stuff he said when he opted in. What has he said about the firing today??

It was a step but he wasn't going to sign just because of that. Things happened from tradeline to now to sour his relationship with the franchise. I think the fans are a reason it'd be hard to leave. He'll talk with them soon tho, its on them

And why does he want to leave? Also, does Dwight know who told stan about him wanting stan fired? Im sure that guy is not with the team anymore. He has a good realtionship with DeVos and Alex, so I just don't get it. The guys he wanted gone are gone...Loyalty my ass if he leaves now.

The relationship with alex and the DeVos isn't at its best right now, can it be repaired we'll see. And because teams like Brooklyn are promising the craziest things, but its a fresh start, with D-Will, and cap space this summer to get players. No he doesn't know who told Stan, but my guess is Otis, not sure. And the organization has to convince him he can win here while he's still young -YBR

i'd imagine Dwight's going to play nice now and say as little as he possibly can. otherwise he didn't learn a thing from last season.

They need to avoid forcing him on the extension until the new GM and coach are on board for at least a week or so. Maybe let the draft finish or draft day dealing finish, and have the GM/Coach/FO staff inspire him on their new approach strategy-wise. It could be the big #Summer13 plan and that would not only sound very sexy (signing one-two All Stars with Dwight) but at this point also be a pretty safe assumption to upgrade our team dramatically. Sure, Dwight ousted Stan indirectly, but winning cures it and Dwight's still not even half the airhead of most of these other NBA stars. If Dwight's on board with #Summer13, then he's the recruiter again (like with Barnes) and I'm not even sure forcing an extension this summer is worth trying if Dwight inclines to #Summer13. It would be similar to Wade exploring Chicago, but why leave Miami (Orlando) when you can recruit/bring in one-two from among a litany of All Stars. The drama would be much less with fresh leadership equipped to handle it and locker room drama purged, as well as the arena/city fans being very faithful to Dwight (despite the transient fanbase, the base as a whole in Dwight's "last" games, saw a massive, majority of fans still cheering on heavy for Superman). The only real drama would be weathering the media storms again, but even they'd have less plotlines/tensions to mine for their ESPN machine.

The new GM has a huge task ahead of him. Getting a new coach and GM is a step in the right direction, but Dwight wants wins. Players win games. Firing guys was the easy part. The hardest is yet to come. I'm still a bit skeptical of our ability to upgrade the roster this offseason, which imo, is what Dwight is really going to look at.

I'm extremely happy that Otis is gone that guy has done so much to screw up this team that it isn't even funny. I'm a little indifferent about Stan because he has been the best thing to happen to the Magic in terms of coaching in a long time. I do believe it was time for a different type of scheme and it should be interesting to see who is hired as GM and HC. It will be interesting to see if we get a coach who will keep the 1 in 4 out type offense or will we get to see something different. The draft is right around the corner so I expect a GM to be hired with in the next week so we can get some scouting done.

This is the summer I feel that will either make or break our franchise as far as Dwight Howard goes. A new HC and GM and maybe some moves are made or will we see Dwight traded and have us start from stratch once again. I can only hope that we can get Dwight back on track with the franchise because the fans love him and I truly feel he loves the fan and team. I know everybody looks towards next summer were we can gain some cap space but will Dwight want to waste another season to get there. I'm not sure he will want to waste another year to get to the point of having a good enough roster to fight for that ship. Otis has put us in one hell of a bind and I just hope that our new GM can hopefully work some Magic to help this roster out.

I also hope we hire somebody with a half decent draft track record because we do need some good young talent. I believe we have some potential in guys like Orton, Harper, and Liggins although we haven't gotten a look at them, but we will with a summer league this year. Hopefully these guys have been working on there game and improve. I know most people have given up on Orton but I'm hoping he can show off during this summer league because Dwight needs a breather every now and then. Also getting someone who brings in talent and actually evalutes guys during the draft will help better the franchise down the road.

Yep, you're welcome

It's actually easier than it looks... whenever the mods had locked the previous thread... I just went to the final page of that thread and counted the individual posts in the final page.

15 posts = 1 page

So right now Part 23 is at 100 pages... only me and cedric76 posted in page 100... so that's 2 posts in the final page... that's 100 2/15 pages for Part 23.

Then you just add Part 23's total pages to the previous total, which was 2,190 14/15 pages... and that's pretty much it.

Just wait until the mods lock Part 23, then count the posts in the final page & add up totals... even the cheap posts like "IBTL" count.

But like I said in the OP of Part 23, you don't have to do that if don't want to. Don't worry.

They just locked it. There were 3 posts in the final page.

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1180000 (locked) (100 3/15 pages)

So [100 3/15 + 2,190 14/15] = 2,291 2/15

The OP is currently at 2,291 2/15 pages total.

One angle on Orlando firing SVG while knowing they'd still lose Dwight is that SVG isn't the coach you'd want on a team that is tanking. I'd rather this signal that we are rebuilding the culture around Dwight but if we are trading Dwight and tanking then the coaching decision still makes sense.

RT @Probballdraft: According to a source Adonal Foyle is the front runner to replace Otis Smith as the Magic GM.

I think Foyle could one day be a solid GM but damn the mess Otis left is no work for rookie to step into, bring in Welsh to fix that.

We got rid of the cause of the problem, now just to get rid of the problem.
