Oh how things have gotten desperate...we are now using the Short Doctor as a source..LOL

well i don't know....shot isn't that bad....he was saying that Stan and Otis was going to be fired/let go way before it happened and before it was a forgone conclusion......iirc

Maybe in passing, but not as someone anyone picked for a finalist. Bower being in that group makes me nervous. Oh well, nothing we can do but sit and wait...and wait...

anyone have background info on Hennigan?

edit:
Rob Hennigan | Assistant General Manager/Player Personnel

Rob Hennigan enters his fourth year with the Oklahoma City Thunder and his second as the team’s Assistant General Manager/Player Personnel. Hennigan spent his first two seasons with the Thunder serving as the team’s Director of College/International Player Personnel.

In his current capacity, Hennigan’s responsibilities include overseeing the team’s professional, college, and international scouting departments, as well as assisting GM Sam Presti with all player personnel matters and day-to-day management of basketball operations.

Prior to joining the Thunder, Hennigan spent five seasons with the San Antonio Spurs and was named the Director of Basketball Operations in September of 2007. He joined the Spurs as an intern during the 2004–05 season and was later named the team’s Basketball Operations Assistant in the summer of 2005.

Hennigan graduated from Emerson College in 2004 with a degree in broadcast journalism. The Worcester, Mass. native, was named a Division III All-American and an Academic All-American as a senior and was the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year three consecutive seasons. He finished his career as the all-time scoring leader in Emerson history.

Rob and his wife, Marissa, reside in Oklahoma City.

We have a chance to land the most sought after assistant gm in basketball, yet, conventional wisdom tells me that we go with bower. Martins has a chance to break the Orlando magic cycle of hiring retreads and friends of the family. Let's hope he proves me wrong.

Something leads me to believe that the unknown third candidate will get the job. I still think it'll be Tom Penn.

Read a couple posts up..the 3rd candidate isn't unknown any longer, at least according to Woj.

Jeff Bower's transactions list is pretty meh.

He'll definitely get the job.

I have faith in Alex & DeVos family.

I wonder what happened to Penn? Maybe he ends up in Indy with Pritchard? I'm hoping we bring him here as our salary guru & assistant GM.

I'm also curious, Hennigan sounds more experienced than Weaver, and he previously worked with the spurs before, and I don't think anyone has talked about Hennigan before. Just wondering why so much talk about Weaver and nothing about Hennigan. This guy sounds like a gem.

He and Jerry Oneil speak to the same person I believe. Which makes sense since they worked together for so long.

Something by Friday/something this week is the same to me and everyone thinks it will be this week.
I don't mind Shot, but I don't use him as a source of Magic related info is all I am saying. His buffoonery outweighs any credibility he has in my eyes.

The Sixers are currently interviewing potential replacements for president of basketball operations Rod Thorn, team sources told the Philadelphia Daily News on Monday.

The team has received permission to talk with personnel executives from some teams, a source said. The Sixers also have been turned down by some organizations.

Potential candidates, according to league sources, include San Antonio vice president of operations Danny Ferry; Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey; Jeff Bower, who was a general manager for the New Orleans Hornets; Oklahoma City assistant GM Troy Weaver; Atlanta GM Rick Sund, whose contract expires at the end of June; and Milwaukee GM John Hammond, who has a year remaining on his deal. Hammond, who was denied permission to talk to Portland last month, was an assistant coach for Doug Collins with Detroit.
