Oddly enough, I don't. I think taking a considered approach to getting Dwight's situation settled makes sense. I know others think he should be gone already, but as we actually don't know what deals are/were available, there's nothing factual to back that up. Patience will pay off.

I feel that if Houston get to keep Lin they will be more inclined to do the Dwight deal as they get more players that would help 12 stay. Not saying Lin is the reason Dwight resigns in Houston, but he might be one of many factors.

Jared Jeffries, on ESPN radio this morning, say he believes the #Knicks will NOT match, and Lin will play for the Rockets next season.

Hard to imagine this working out well for the Magic but there is no harm in waiting it out. We could be looking at a much better situation if not for the lack of any cooperation from Dwight. Whatever brought us to this point, and there's plenty of blame to pass around, in the final move Dwight tried to leave us in shambles, thats a fact.

Stan, in airing the teams dirty laundry has also permanently hurt this team. I like him but that was a world class screw up and something he should have kept to himself. We would be looking at a much different situation without that as well.

We've seen some crazy stuff this off season, but the bulls aren't going to take j rich's contract. It would be a lateral move at best talent wise but with a crummy contract attached. Now, I can see them being interested in jj but that doesn't make alot of sense for our squad unless picks are attached.

This is a really good read from Mejia. I posted some of the highlights below. It was updated early this morning...so fairly current.

"Sources that have been right all along on this — check the Twitter timeline starting Sunday, July 8 — believe the Houston Rockets will be able to finalize facilitation of the Orlando Magic’s coveted rebuilding strategy shortly after Chicago center Omer Asik’s situation is settled.

Asik’s situation will be clarified following Lin’s, which I still expect to be matched by the Knicks despite luxury tax implications.

Asik was promised a three-year, $25 million offer sheet that Rockets GM Daryl Morey will make good on, which would affect just how many of the contracts new Magic GM Rob Hennigan wants to move can be absorbed. Regardless of what happens with Lin, look for the Bulls to take an additional three days starting Wednesday after getting Asik’s offer sheet.

The Rockets will then finally have a clear indication of what it can do for Orlando to acquire Howard.

If Chicago allows Asik to walk, sources say the steal could still be re-worked to appease Orlando enough to end the saga.

Howard was reportedly telling his circle that the Magic would get a deal done for him to get him to Brooklyn after a face-to-face meeting with Magic management where he again expressed his interest to help open the Barclays Center. Whatever assurances were given are unknown, but Hennigan has been consistent that nothing has come before doing “what’s best for the organization.”

Undoubtedly, the Magic heard the backlash from fans who watched all the reports whizzing through the air waves and social media which railed against the prospect of granting Howard’s wishes for a marginal package. Purely speculation, but that probably didn’t help Brooklyn’s cause."

Slightly off topic, but as an Orlando fan living in the state of Washington, gotta give props to Tony Wroten for his performance last night. I know it's just summer league but if you had watched this guy shoot a terrible 3 point and free throw% in college only to play in his first summer league game and hit 2 of 3 from downtown and almost all his free throws while grabbing 8 boards and 6 dimes, gotta give him credit. If he can figure his shot out, watch out. K, prOps have been given.. Go magic!

I don't believe for one second that Hennigan pulled out of the deal with the Net's cause of backlash from the fans.

As soon as he arrived he said every decision is planned and every decision would be in the best interest of the organisation. There is no way that the Nets deal was ever in the best interest and watching all the press conferences I got the impression as there was absolutely no interest in a maxed Brooke Lopez being in Orlando.

Other than that, good read.

A good read. It's good to know the Magic at least give some credence to how the fans feel. After all, they pay the freight. I hope we can get the Houston deal done asap so we can start the building process. I, however, do not think the Knicks are going to match the offer for Lin.

This is a good point. I've said before he basically had to go after those comments to the media, and that he had thrown both Dwight and team management under the bus, but it hadn't occurred to me that he really hurt our bargaining position by doing this as well.

Whenever I start to feel a little down about the Magic organization, I go read the Knicks & Raptors forum as a pick-me-upper.

So now SVG threw everyone under the bus?????????????????? Ok, we will go with that. I do agree that Stan was history after doing that but I think he knew that. I thinjk he was tired of Howard trying to work both sides of the street. It was the Coward who was going behind SVG back, Otis Smith's back, most all of his team mates back, to get ALL of them removed and/or replaced. It is amusing that everyone else was responsible for the team not winning a championship EXCEPT Howard!

yeah i don't think they were ever close to accept it. It made no sense to do so from a financial standpoint and when a much better player was supposedly offered for Dwight in Bynum. Saying Yes to Lopez' contract but not Bynum wouldn't have made any sense and would have been one of the most idiotic trades ever. It's not Hennigan's fault anyways, that trade was so media driven it's nuts. So many people with agendas in NY and in Dwight's circle.
