There are those who do not share your opinion that the offers for Dwight will not improve with time. Also, on the off chance the Magic really think they can get Dwight to stay, keeping Dwight until the deadline provides the Magic a chance to try and improve the team.

hmmm.....there are so many variables.....there is a lot of risks.....Dwight's back is a question mark....Dwight himself is a question mark.....in my eyes he has made it clear that he doesn't want to be here and has said that he will explore Free Agency no matter where he ends up......I think Dwight's camp will push for a trade before he has to put on our Jersey.....Dwight is so caught up in protecting his image....he's already vilified.....he will be booed here there is no doubt in my mind.....don't think Dwight wants any part of that......so this "Visit" by rob will probably end with Dwight still wanting a trade......but thanks JPM you made things a little bit more clear.....

Is this the thread where something happens? The last few threads have basically been a lot about nothing. Maybe this is the one. The chosen one.

It does seem like maybe clearing the way for the Houston trade. One last ditch effort to get him to wait until next summer when they can maybe add a good player. I don't think he will buy on and he will get traded. In the new CBA a dominant big man could be even more valuable so they will try to get him to stay, but he won't.

If we could get a good deal I would be ready to move on even though we could be better with Dwight. Just over it.

Spend the next 2 weeks trying to convince dwight to say...........Then force the rockets to give up DM and Lamb!! (along with that toronto pick and white!!

I dont think its realistic, but i dont see how giving up basically 4 rookies for the best center in the world is a stretch, i mean how often do rookies pan out and if youre a 41-41 team every year, you have to take a chance right? Also, people dont pay to watch rookies (maybe this is why devos is trying to convince dwight to stay), but if youre houston, you know you will sell out every game with a Dwight/lin combo

Come on Henny, get it done!

I can't help but believe that this meeting is more about sending a message to the Rockets and Lakers than about convincing Dwight to stay.

However, what if it isn't? If this is an another honest attempt to keep Dwight the Hennigan wouldn't bother unless he had a new plan to sell Dwight on and reason to be confident in it. Sadly I don't see a lot on our roster which would net us a star player in return. JJ's contract becomes interesting now, but that is about it.

Maybe its not about this season, but next season. Dwight still has some good years left.

Very good point. However, as I mention in an earlier post (during which many people here lost their sense of humor and ability to grasp the implied idea of an analogy) I pointed out that we shouldn't expect things such as patience from Dwight Howard. We really shouldn't expect it from any players. T-Mac ran out the door rather than take time to see what could be with incoming #1 pick Dwight Howard. True, there is less for Dwight to be excited about, but I expect the same short sightedness from him that we saw from T-Mac. In my opinion, Hennigan will need to have a plan for THIS season.

I'm not sure it was answered, but in the last thread I asked if we were luxury tax payers last year or if Sham Sports was right with a 69.300,000 salary. Anyone know? Do we have full MLE available?

The Milwaukee Bucks started following Hedo, JJ, Duhon, and BBD on twitter 2 days ago. Last time that happened, the whole story about the Rockets offering everything for D12 broke.

A proposed deal that makes sense involving those players would be...
ORL gets: Monta, Gooden, Udrih, A Moute
MIL gets: JJ, Hedo, BBD, Duhon

Nothing like that rumored. Just speculation.

I like that Morey is moving on. The idea isn't just to acquire Dwight, it's to have enough assets/flexibility to build a contender too; otherwise we're just recreating another miserable situation for Dwight. Morey made a good decision in being firm in his offer...Didn't work out and now we can shift gears towards rebuilding.

I agree actually. I'd also add that the x factor is patience is running out between the two sides in general. So there is a mutual want for something to happen which would cancel out the patience factor in a sense of the two sides agreeing for something which through previous media reports doesn't seem as such would happen.

Its this not the type of thing you would post on the houston board to talk about with all your rocket friends?
