Dear Orlando, All Of Central Florida and Orlando Magic Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up with this franchise, is no longer a Orlando Magic.

This was announced with a several year, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with demanding trades of his "Indecision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Magic have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE ORLANDO MAGIC WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘SUPERMAN" WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Orlando, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "Prospect" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Orlando, Florida

The self-declared former "Superman" will be taking the "curse" with him out West. And until he does "right" by Orlando and Florida, Dwight Coward (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Orlando.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Richard DeVos
Majority Owner
Orlando Magic

That has to be fake.

Kupchak gave respect to Rob Hennigan - who frustrated Mitch, as he's supposed to as an opposing GM. Mitch said he suspects Philly was Orlando's plan for some time but they were just waiting for Harkless to get past the 30-day no-trade restriction. Kupchak thought it was dead until recently then it moved quickly to deal. Orlando brought in Philly and Denver. Mitch also said he's done with home runs for the offseason

So looks like Harkless was Henny's target all along. He must have been way higher on him then any of Houston's young guys. Makes me excited to see this kid play over the next couple years! I am hoping he turns out to be a Rudy Gay/Danny Granger type

+1

That's a bit encouraging. Did Moe ever work out for OKC or Detroit?

This is why I am choosing to give the new GM more than a couple months to prove his initial moves. What's done is done, and now we have to trust Henny has more foresight than any of us. He made this trade for a reason... hopefully it plays out just as he's envisioning.

If that draft pick info is accurate, this is officially the worst trade ever.

Who knows if we actually use those picks. They could be included in future trades down the road.

I'd assume they're trade bait, but how valuable are they? I don't see a team really holding out on a deal for one of those picks.

Yup. All that nonsense just confirms that Hennigan was at the mercy of the other 3 GMs the entire time.

As soon as the word 'protection' started getting bandied about, a real GM would have said something along the lines of, 'All three of you are pretty much having your playoff status guaranteed for the next four years due to us ending up with a Hall-of-Fame-sized hole in our roster and our fanbase. You need to take your petty 'protection' nonsense, shove it back up your *** where it came from, and lets move on to the other parts of the deal.'

Harkless is def going to be a prospect we'll develop into something good. He has all the tools.

I'm already praying for a top 1-3 pick with luck. Zeller is #1 at the moment in mocks but I want their #3 Shabazz to bring some all star power in the wings for Orlando, with Zeller as the first big to take and Noels as the second big. Shabazz just seems to have the athleticism, readiness, and drive to be great, unlike most lotto bigs who miss one quality or another.

only complaint about the deal is the draft picks. i prefer afflalo over iggy and bynum for many reasons. bynum prevents a rebuild plus demands max money and iggy wouldn't be happy here and also becomes a free agent soon. afflalo fits well here. very excited about harkless

they could be used as a formality in a sign and trade for a top free agent down the road... They won't yield anything spectacular otherwise. Maybe in a package to dump a bad contract, or to sweeten the pot in a lesser deal. I'm aware that they aren't overly valuable picks, but they might come in handy at some point. Trust me, I'd have preferred better picks, just like everyone else.

my take: a few years down the road bynum will be missing games on a max deal as philly fights for a playoff spot. denver also fights to get to the second round. orlando will have 2 top 5 picks as harkless and nicholson develop into great players

Bingo.

I could be wrong, but I believe this is the first time that we ever traded for a first round pick that could magically turn into two second round picks. That is, it'll do that if it takes too long becoming worthless enough for them to actually want to give it to us.

Oh, and the LAL second actually explodes unless it is an even numbered pick in an odd numbered year. Or something like that.

Garbage.

Those picks suck, guess they are trade bait? But that is what happens when your star player forces his way to a team with no assets and and you have no leverage. Depressing.
