Oladipo's TS% in summer league is probably around 56-57 which is awesome for a guard. Nobody cared that Chauncey Billups had multiple seasons shooting under 40% because he drew a ton of free throws and shot threes well.

Interesting. I honestly thought it was wasted money to begin with. Calderon can hold down the point and Larkin will bring a spark off the bench.

Top Performers

Victor Oladipo, Magic

Rookies aren’t supposed to be this poised, this polished. They’re not supposed to display a defensive savoir faire far beyond their young years, and they’re certainly not supposed to be as comfortable taking the shot to win the game as they are the one to open it. And yet, Oladipo is all of these things. He wasn’t perfect in Orlando, with turnovers plaguing him in every game, but every other aspect of his game was either as good as advertised or better. Averaging 19 points, five assists and three steals per game while shooting 53 percent from deep and 82 percent from the line, Oladipo’s only main areas of worry were his oddly low field goal percentage (37 percent) and his turnovers (nearly five per game, which is to be expected of a rookie just now learning the point guard position).

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_ ... -judgments

They also included Harkless as one of the top six performers
Maurice Harkless, Magic
This final spot was a tough choice between Harkless and Jeremy Lamb of Oklahoma City, but Harkless takes the trophy because of the noticeable myriad improvements to his game. Last season, per MySynergySports.com, Harkless scored just .59 points per play as the ball handler in pick-and-roll situations. Look for that number to improve, as Harkless’ improved handles and strengthened frame -- as well as the Magic’s emphasis on putting him in these situations during this week -- have made him a much better operator off the bounce. Harkless was noticeably more comfortable as a ball handler this week, which bodes well for him and the Magic offense as a whole.

and how do they put MCW as the biggest disappointment without also including trey burke. MCW was seen as a bigger project, we knew he couldn't shoot, and he was even drafted after Burke... they both couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. Burke was the bigger disappointment, or at least should have shared the dishonor.
Disappointment

Michael Carter-Williams, 76ers
Nobody expected Carter-Williams to come in and dominate summer league; his current strengths and weaknesses as a player don’t lend themselves to such performances. At the same time, no one expected him to be one of the worst players in Orlando. Shooting a measly 27 percent from the floor, turning the ball over at an alarming rate and complaining to the refs after every no-call, Carter-Williams had a miserable week. Perhaps the one silver lining to be found in this grey cloud of inefficiency is that now the organization can pinpoint the exact areas in which they need to develop their young point guard.

MCW wasn't disappointing at all, his summer league performance is exactly what I expected based on his college play.

Larkin broke his **** bro. He's out.

I'd consider Burke more of a disappointment this week than MCW. We knew MCW couldn't shoot.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Talked to #Orlando #Magic GM Rob Hennigan, told me they won't make any significant trades, and Arron Afflalo will not be traded #NBA

Didn't Burke shoot 24% for the week? Guy probably didn't think that was even him he sucked so bad.

Besides shooting bad, the bigger issue was the scouting report on him not being athletic enough looks true. He had a hard time beating guys off the dribble. I'm not too worried about his shot, it will come back.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what he says. If he comes out and says we are gonna trade him, Afflalo's value goes down.

Hennigan will take his time finding a good deal, otherwise we're stuck with Afflalo until the trade deadline next year. Oladipo will get time as a backup pg/sg until nelson goes down with injury, which is a given.

Like I thought:

Oladipo
Afflalo
Harris
BBD (until Rob can move him)
Vuc

Jameer and Harkless with major minutes off the bench

I feel Dipo won't start having Nelson and Afflalo.

I don't know... Afflalo is clearly part of the new regime and I don't think anyone wants to put Oladipo on the bench for a slightly above average point guard.
