How can we see improvement if guys like Mo and AN44 don't even get court time yet half eaten hotdogs like Ben Gordon and Dwayne Dedmon soak up the minutes. I'm sorry but with Frye out, why oh why didn't Nicholson get court time.

Yeah, if he had of played those superstars Harkless and Nicholson we would have won by 20.

Sorry, did I say superstars? I meant scrubs.

He will be fired this season as soon as missing the playoffs is a foregone conclusion, he is the fall guy. And him being under contract means nothing, firing coaches under contract is standard practice in the NBA. The bigger question is who is a suitable replacement?

What a terrible game. I stopped watching the game. The team's offense was downright terrible.

I am done with this board. My thread about an honest topic that was magic related i thought was interesting to discuss got hijacked by **** and gets locked. While a thread about firing the coach after 1 fricking game is fine. Complete BS
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Your thread was off topic and it was starting to get ugly in there... I'm not surprised it was locked. This thread about firing vaughn after 1 game without a healthy team should also be locked for overreacting imo. What happens if we blowout the Wiz on Thursday with the same lineup?

Then we're finals contenders obviously.

The Pelicans is on the cusp of being an elite team; Orlando is noted for being horrible on the road, was starting a rookie PG, and was missing 2 of their 5 best players. A 20 point loss is easily the expected result.

And their were loads of positives in this game. Orlando put up more than 50 rebounds. Defended the 3-ball. And Mr. Payton played with poise which reflected in a nice assist/TO of 3.5.

One thing Coach Vaughn must do is start designing plays that have a lower TO potential. Part of the 18 TOs is on the coach.

No joke, you wouldn't take a coach with over 440 victories in the NBA??

If you're the type to want to fire JV right now, after one game, you will likely want to fire whoever replaces him as well. Unless there is some superstar coach out there wanting the job, I would rather give JV the year to prove himself... that does not mean 1 game or 5 games, it means at least most of the season. It would also be much better for our core as they'll have more consistency than if we forced them to learn a new system and everything that goes along with it. Imagine if we fire JV, hire another coach, and then fire him in the summer. That would be a horrible situation for our players. Plus, you never know, the team may look completely different when we get dipo/frye back. They're pretty important to the team's offense and defense. If you guys don't like Ben Gordon then your complaints should be to Hennigan, not Vaughn. We just paid the dude $4.5 mil... he's going to get minutes for a while whether vaughn likes it or not, especially while Dipo is out.

For the record, I think JV should get the rest of the season. See where we are at at the end of the season and go from there.

Team has youth, but no surefire all-star. Firing him does what? What good coach would want to take a job where they know they are going to lose while guys learn how to play NBA basketball? If you fire the coach, you gotta look at the GM who put together the roster as well, IMO.

Why are you being so rational with your thoughts?... and stop posting stats that point to the positives that can be taken out of the game.

I think that after watching 1 GAME with a new (and incomplete) cast the evidense is overwhelming. Coach should be fired right away. 8-)
