This guy is an intriguing prospect, I'd take him over any big not named KAT or WCS. But to do so, would need to trade down.

This thread made me like the idea of Turner more, so I started watching a bit more and came across this...

His matchup against Kentucky's bigs (Stein, Towns, etc.) and have reverted back to preferring Porzingis

Nathan (DFW)

Hey Chad, will Myles Turner's attempt to get out ahead of medical concerns going to be enough to alleviate lottery GM's fears?
Chad Ford (1:02 PM)

It's a start. NBA doctors will go over things throughly this weekend at the combine. But the early reports from his own camp are encouraging. They have no incentive to mislead. NBA teams will be doing their own independent homework. If he just needs to get stronger and if his running form is already fixed, he'll rise. Lots and lots of talent there. He's No. 10 on our Board right now. But I could easily see him at 5 or 6 by the end of June.

A lot has been made about Myles Turner's awkward running gait this season, and whether or not it will harm his draft stock. He was asked about that today at his media availability, and his response gave a bit of insight into how it developed and what he's doing to work on it:

-"It's a little awkward. It's something I'm working on to get better at. I don't want to say I never really learned how to run, but it's not something I ever put a lot of effort into when I was younger. I just put all my efforts into basketball.
-"I'm working on my core a lot. Doing a lot of physical therapy. Yoga-type exercises. Holding poses."

Turner also noted that he has done multiple tests this offseason to prove that he is not injury prone. He did stress tests, flexibility tests and overall movement tests, and was told that he is 100 percent healthy, he just needs to get stronger. If this holds up throughout the draft process as teams run him through their own battery of tests, he could really rise up draft boards from the mid-to-late lottery to the top-seven.

From USA today

Myles Turner, freshman, Texas

Turner has the chance to be a very polarizing prospect. On the one hand, he blocked shots at an elite level, registering 4.7 blocks per 40 minutes played, making an impact more as a result of positioning and timing than sheer athleticism. He also makes an impact on the defensive glass, and shows the ability to step out and hit jump shots out to the collegiate three point line. The combination of those three attributes is incredibly intriguing

That being said, Turner's offense was extremely inconsistent. His jump shot was very hit or miss, and mostly miss as the season went along. Turner connecting on 83.9% of his free throws suggests this is a problem he should be able to correct down the line, but Turner definitely fell in love with his jumper a little bit too much, in part because his post game is still very unrefined.

And, when Turner's jump shot wasn't falling, he struggled to consistently make an impact. Can he develop some go-to moves down low? Can that jump shot become a much more consistent part of his arsenal? He has enough potential as a defender and rebounder to convince some team to take a chance that the answer to those questions is yes.

I think he could go as high as #5 Remember last year, before combine no-one had Gordon at #4 or elf at #10. Rob doesn't care about medias' mocks Gordon was projected outside of top #10 same was Turner is

Nice shot, nice passing. Athleticism is underwhelming. Worry about speed, quickness, hops, and how plays below the rim.

"Turner's awkward gait is most likely caused by a minor, and fairly common, muscular imbalance in his thighs," wrote the Cauldron's Jonathan Tjarks. "It's the type of thing that an NBA training staff can easily correct once they’re made aware of it, and there is no reason to assume it will cause any long-term problems."

I still don't see it.

His running is terrible
His athleticism isn't impressive, at all
He's extremely raw

Sounds like a 10th pick to me, not a 5

So who do you draft ?

My order:
Winslow (BPA at #5 in my opinion)
Hezonja
Porzingis (Only if Hennigan thinks hes as good as some scouts)
WCS
Stanley Johnson

I'd even take Trey Lyes and Dekker before Turner

Return to Orlando Magic
