Vuc and Ross will be back. If the Raptors scheming for them like they're superstars saves us money on them that'd be awesome.

Now that WeHam has made the playoffs, they can justify blowing it up for another rebuild!

That would be the ultimate fantasy. But I dont think management has the balls to do it.

I'm aware.
Jrue is a significantly better basketball player in virtually every respect (scoring, shot creation for others, defense) compared to Evan, especially THIS version of Evan who doesn't actually hit threes anymore. So the Magic would be getting a massive upgrade in the backcourt.
If Fultz pans out at the same time, the Magic would in theory go from one of the worst defensive backcourts in basketball to one of the best. Combine that with the Gordon/Isaac front court and they'd be really big and long at 4 of 5 positions.
Mainly it boils down to if you think the gap between Jrue/Evan is worth sacrificing Bamba.

Re: Official Speculation Thread ‘19-'20 I: Big decisions on the horizon
Best cure for present and for future is to flip one of Gordon /Isaac in actual SF.
This playoffs exposed complete lack of small, ballhanlding wing on this team.
Isaac had 1 assist in 5 games and he never put ball on the floor.
Gordon tried to play with a ball but Raptors didn't give a flying F about him doing it, so they were putting even Vleet to guard him.
Team also has desperate need for PG-SG ( or combo ) guard upgrade and overall shooting.
This playoffs are good wakeup call to see that you can't build bench with 1 player and with fringe nba players like Iwundu and MCW are.
Keeping or moving away from Vučević won't change that problems.
People like to think that faster pace will "cure" Magic problems ,and it really won't, because almost pace gets slower in playoffs no matter what and it's better to have team capable playing half court whole season, than playing fast just to figure that ain't gonna happen in playoffs ( happend to 57 wins Nuggets team 5 years ago). You can't outrun opponents in playoffs.

I'd be down. Pitched this in my post in what roster I want to see next season. If we keep Vuc, I would rather see Bamba moved for a high calibre backcourt player.
Alternate proposal - if the Pels trade AD to the Clips for picks + SGA + Shamet, could we convince the Pels to swap SGA for Bamba? Throw in a future pick if needed.

Fournier and DJ need to be the first positions gone and upgraded.

Certainly seems to me that if the Magic are able to upgrade to players better than Augustin and Fournier in the backcourt that the issues with the Gordon/Isaac pairing become much less of a problem.
But I think I get your overarching point. DJ and Evan have virtually no trade value and Gordon and Isaac do.
Stands to reason that the easier way to find that real backcourt/wing upgrade would be to move one of the guys with actual value.
Still feels to me like Bamba is the most expendable piece that actually has some value still.

Just show me a video of Fultz shooting a 3 in an empty gym.

I want to use picks to upgrade. Raptors got Lowry using a protected first and it changed the dynamic of their team and they just kept upgrading from there as opportunities presented themselves. Then we can swing for the fences with a huge trade once our team looks ready for it. Maybe Fultz is our Lowry?

Can I throw in the 2019 1st round pick and make this trade for Brad Beal?

Re: Official Speculation Thread ‘19-'20 I: Big decisions on the horizon
We cannot afford to re-sign Vuc. Even if he re-signs for his current contract (he wont) it would be too much. He simply doesn't fit with the rest of our players. Time to move on.
I hope we can keep Terrence Ross, but feel like he's going to get PAID! He deserves it too, will always root for him. Hope it's in a Magic uniform though.
I actually think there's going to be a market for Birch. I hope we keep him. He's just all-around solid.
I also actually think there will be talent available at #16 in the draft. Be interesting to see what direction they go in. A lot of wing players available

Re: Official Speculation Thread ‘19-'20 I: Big decisions on the horizon
I think we should get rid of Evan no matter what we do with Vuc.
Would be nice to get a young wing like Malik Beasley, Caris Levert, or Jaylen Brown via trade.

lol calm down he's just messing around doing spin trick shots... if we start seeing him air ball free throws and threes in an empty gym then we can panic. Doubt he allows reporters to film him actually practicing any time soon though.
