If the guy shoots over 25-27% from 3, WeHam don't bother to even remember his name.

Dunn is probably the best PG defender in the league. He's way better than MCW.MaKiaVeLi7 wrote:basketballRob wrote:Kris Dunn seems like a Weham type of player and he's a UFA now.

I thought there would be non-stop new threads on GB or new tweets from woj, shams and etc.. but only cp3 to suns so far.
What a letdown (lol)
The draft hasn't started and neither has free agency.

Draft yeah... with package deals. But I was expecting thenfrenzy of the trade deadline of yesteryears to happen now with the way everyone was hyping uo this season's movement.

I'm still trying to figure out why he has spent so much time on all the different "If, then" scenarios in preparation for the 15th pick. He said he didn't know how many different combinations there were before pick 15, but they went through all of them. LOL.
Build a your own board. Take the highest guy on your board when 15 is on the clock. I don't get why your guy would change depending on who was already taken.
Just goes to show how once again, they are reactionary in their mindset instead of proactive. They are so resistant to change because there is no pressure for them to perform at a high level.
How are you actually complaining that they're planning out all possible outcomes in advance? They very likely have their own big board, but by plotting each possible outcome they can have a sense of where on their big board they will be selecting from depending on how picks line up.
So if they end up on a modelled path that doesn't give them one of their preferred players, they can look to move up.
Criticise them for a lot, but not for them being overly prepared for this draft. That's just a bit silly.

I just think even with trades you will see a decent number during the draft and during FA period too. Still all of tomorrow as well. Calm before the storm perhaps.

I think you are giving them too much credit. If they are doing it as a means of preparation to make a draft day move, then I just can't buy that.
They had that chance in previous years and failed to execute. In 2017, they said the draft flattened out and gave away our second 1st rounder (passing on Kuzma/White). In 2018, they could've moved up for Doncic and Young, but NOPE. In 2019, they reached for Chuma instead of calculating a trade down to pick up additional draft collateral and still get him. In all scenarios they had a chance to either move up and get their guy OR move down and they failed to make a move. So where did their modeling matter?
These guys are passive, reactionary and conservative. Their mindset is not what you are thinking... don't think that they will find a model and move around to get their guy... no no no... All they are doing is wasting time that could be used in other efforts...I give em credit for working hard, but not smart. You don't need to waste time scenario-ing, just so that you might find a different set of players who will be available to you when you are on the clock. That's an exercise that is mostly a guessing game and constantly changing. Rumors of who teams want are constantly changing. You just no advantage in doing hours and hours of scenario-ing if-then combinations for each of the 14 picks ahead of you. Get out there, do your homework scouting as hard as you can so you don't draft a bust. Forget who might or might not be available. Target your top guys and try to get the best one you can using your available assets. Be sound, be aggressive, smart, make the most of our assets, and make decisions with confidence, so that when you draft them your damn coach isn't afraid of playing them.
I'll tell you what though... If they make a trade in the coming days, I'll come back here and eat my crow.
