Seems we are in a position of power in the draft, no?

So it seems that the Chi pick will be teens. It is statistically impossible for Chi to end up 5-8 based on the other tanking teams.

Unless the trade with BOS has changed it is not a 2021 2nd from them either.

Weltman's a weird dude... didn't want to tank hard in the final weeks of the doncic/young sweepstakes in his first year, but completely blows it up on the eve of his contract year.

The way Dallas tanked so hard that last month or two. Incredible.

The Mavericks won 5 of their last 18 games.
The Magic won 5 of their last 19 games.

Their tank wasn't really any more egregious than the Magic's was.

Except the Mavs out-tanked us when we faced them and we won 3 more games than them in the final 14 games... important difference. We were only 1 loss from tying dallas/atl.... it was doable, we just didn't want it bad enough.

Final 10 games...
Against Suns: Vuc, Gordon, DJ played 35+ minutes each. We wanted to win and we won by 6.
Against Mavs: Magic let contract year Gordon play against their tank lineup. Won by 5.
Against Wizards: Final game, still played Vuc, Gordon, DJ, and other vets because it was the home finale. Won by 9.

Hopefully they told him about Evan and AG trades.

That is my other "culture" hope. I.E. "We trade guys to where they want to go if they are unhappy."

Yeah. If we get even one of Cade or Suggs, I think we are good.

Let them play for a couple, and if healthy, trade a couple that are underperforming... This could be similar to the OKC reload that got them KD, RW on a farm, and "The Beard" if we have that same "Magic" luck that got us Shaq / Penny.

Much more exciting than most of the last decade imo....

I don’t mean to be a downer, but what exactly indicates to anyone that the WeHam “vision” exists beyond a team full of guys with impressive measurables? They traded two guys that literally gave up and requested out, got back an extremely mediocre return, and then traded away a 2x all star in their prime for a very mediocre return.

WeHam has no vision. This is novelty and with novelty comes hope.

This.. This the most underrated post of the day. Glad we finally pulled the trigger on a rebuild but management still needs to be held accountable. So is vuc really worth what WeHam selects at around 15 and who ever comes in 2023(don't get me wrong this is the one I thinks holds value) and possibly Carter eating Mo minutes? I personally don't think so, considering we are paying Harris, Vuc money... #ALEXNEEDS2GO
