Damn, the Magic did Jabari a little dirty not picking him, hah. They really believe he ain't gonna learn how to dribble and score more creatively over time? I guess in retrospect he did look a little mechanical like Rashard Lewis at times, something that helped Sweet Lew shoot deadly but not be a super creative and versatile scorer like a LeBron, Giannis, or Durant.

Haha, all jokes aside about doing Jabari Smith dirty. It really feels like all of these top 5 picks are going to have great NBA careers and its a lot of win-win here tonight.

I am insanely excited to see Paolo Banchero come on board! I mentioned he was the best fit day 1, and the best overall scorer and player day 1. Fultz and Suggs do not get to impact selecting Banchero, it is on them to fit with Banchero instead. And I think Wagner and Isaac will fit with him absolutely amazing! That is the real Magic Big 3 right there, with a ton of secret hopes and prayers on Fultz and Suggs.

So I did not watch much college ball or do much fan scouting during the college season. This let me actually change my draft board around a bit. I once had Paolo as low as No. 5 on my board, but my final draft board mentioned here was ACTUALLY Jabari No. 1 and PAOLO No. 2. What convinced me of that spot for Paolo?

First, it started with some actual game tape and not highlights. I saw someone who had more footwork in his offense than a lot of comparable's I pulled up game tape for, such as Jabari Parker. It gets glossed over because he is so tall and big out there, but it's there to see in the details.
Secondly, I looked at his physicals more carefully. Paolo is the SAME 6'10 and 255 lbs of muscle as LEBRON JAMES. And what is nuts is that the dude has a similar ability to pass and score creatively as LeBron does.
Add up all the other little things I saw and learned about Banchero, like his cool as a cucumber demeanor, and I felt like I was looking at an older, less athletic LeBron James. Boom, my No. 2 pick on my Draft Board.

WELCOME PAOLO BANCHERO, LET"S GOOOOO!!!

This is the scouting report you will want to watch. Spinella had Banchero as his No. 1 prospect.

I should've known. Not only did Jabari did a workout with us, but he also did that media availability. Never falling for that again

Honestly think he's the best basketball player between the top picks.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Damn, that came surprisingly. I think Banchero is a nice player, I just believe he is a bad fit to our roster. Doesn’t match to our two non-shooting PG, as all three are creator, not shooter, and needs the ball. And I don’t like the fit with WCJ at center next to him.
Nevermind, Hope the Magic will prove me wrong.

I’m ready for this. I’m ready for a true go to player and Paolo is prime to take up the mantle. Having a 6’9 power creator will be fun. We might have a true franchise player here!

welcome,he's gonna play for my beloved Magic and my beloved national team :D

i am satisfied with weham pick,he could fail but"at least we tried",they did not choose the easy conservative path this time.

most important thing:shaping the roster around him, wagner and suggs.
if they stay calm and conservative is gonna be bad.

Thanks for the video. It's been a long time since we've had a player like this.

Of course, I felt the same way about Suggs! It's all a crapshoot.

One thing I did like about Paolo… is his ability to facilitate while being an engine on offense.

Magic need to surround him with capable shooting talent for other options. The rest of the roster doesn’t make sense outside of Franz and WCJr.

I agree he's a terrible fit with our current roster. I still would have picked him number 1. Get the talent and figure out the roster later.

It doesn't need to make sense right now. We're seeing what we have and how they play together. If Suggs improves, Wagner is near 40% and Paolo becomes a better shooter in the NBA, things are different. We'll still need shooting in general but we don't know how it'll be yet.

Paolo will be an awesome player, he’s going to be a perennial 20 PPG scorer, and he can really handle and pass the ball. I just don’t know how good a team will be winning wise with him because I’m not sold on his defense at all. At least he’ll be hella fun to watch.

Guys its this simple. If Fultz/Sugs/Cole can't become good/reliable shooters at 1-2, you replace them. End of story. You dont pass on the best player because you have guards that struggle. This is Paolos team now. If those guys create spacing issues, you trade them, bring in shooters and build around your franchise. I don't give a crap if our 16th/5th pick couldn't shoot last year, that just makes them replaceable for me if they don't improve.

You dont pass on a player of this caliber because youre worried about guys like fultz/cole.

Imagine Wagner and Paolo running 3/4, interchangeably with knock down shooters around them. These are 6' 11 guys handling the ball at the top of the key and creating. It will be insane.
