It will take time, but all the pieces will be there. Scoot's BBIQ, skills and athleticism are just elite. I'm convinced the kid has got IT.

If the Magic don't end up with the 1st or 2nd pick, I would be very much on board with an aggressive offer to move up to 2.

It would depend on who gets the No. 2 if they're even willing to trade it. Maybe a team like Indy since they are already guard loaded, but I don't see any team trading out of the top two. If we get the Bulls pick and ours is still top 6-7, would both those picks plus future picks and maybe a player or two be enough? Hard to say.

There are a couple teams that might consider moving #2, Indy like you said, maybe Detroit but I'd guess they'd move Cade to SF, possibly Portland.

If we end up with the 5th & 7th pick like its currently slotted, I think a team could trade down that we wouldn't expect to if they fall absolutely in love with one of the prospects around that range and have them on the same level as Scoot. Like the trade down the Celtics did to grab Tatum. If we send a couple young players in the trade I wouldn't be surprised.

The team I keep going back to in terms of a trade is Charlotte.

I don’t think they’d necessarily want to play Ball/Henderson together, so I think they’d be willing to move either the No. 2 pick or Ball and I’d be very interested in either option.

I like the players we got but you'd be naive to think that we wouldn't have to make tough decisions on some of these guys sooner or later... For me if we have an opportunity to move up and get Scoot you almost HAVE to do it.... At some point you have to cash some of thses chips in

We should have a separate thread for All-Star Saturday Night.

Eh, I don't see the issue with one thread. GB only has one thread for all weekend too and it just doesn't seem active enough on the Magic forum without one of our guys in the dunk contest or in the all-star game. :)

Looking at Scoot's shooting percentages.... I would probably take Ball if we had the option... and I'm not the biggest LaMelo fan.

I'd take either but could definitely see a case for Ball. He really impresses me. Only 21 and in the top 11 of NBA PGs already?

Edit: Quick thought experiment for putting PGs in tiers

Tier 1
Luka Doncic
Curry (stats wise he'd be in tier 3 but I'd feel stupid doing that)

Tier 2
Shai
Morant
Lillard

Tier 3
Trae
Irving
Fox
Harden
Brunson
Ball

It’s a fun experience for them, they should be enjoying themselves not worry about proving anything in a skills challenge.

Bruh its an 11 game sample size lol

(actually I think 16 with this year, too but his percentages went from 17 to 47 even if its small sample size which just shows the variance)

Scoot is 15/42 from 3PT this season in 17 games (.357)

He's 40/54 from the FT line (.741)

I would take Ball as well, but LaMelo at the same age Scoot is now was shooting 25% from 3PT in Australia, ya know?
