Gifted lottery luck? Is going from 2 to 1 really all that lucky considering the top 3 all have the same odds at 1? Also, how was it gifted? Considering we usually go down and staying at 6 was actually less likely than getting 1, I'd say we did have a bit of luck this year. I was honestly expecting 7-8.

Considering we just saw Detroit go from 1 to 5, yeah, we had lotto luck last year

Someone has to win. It's not crazy luck for a bottom 3 team to get it. Nobody was like... woah, the 2nd worse team got the #1 pick?

I suspect a narrative that will gain steam is us trading up for Scoot.

I think we need one more major piece if we are going to develop into a title contending team and we may have just missed out on that piece. Hopefully we find something special ar 6 though.

i dont think so

that year we all knew it ws a 4-5 player top level
the isaac draft, same thing so it sucked to get 6th

This year i dont feel that way, i think its a 1 player elite level, 1 clear 2, and then the next 6-10 are almost interchangable
I saw one mock today where it had cam whitemore at 3 and others that had him at 8-9

I think we are good at 6, alot of good options. same with 11

ALTHOUGH
i will say, considering CHA depth at G, i would love to see us make a move using 6+11 to move up to #2 for scoot. It would take more than that, but i think theres a trade to be made if they are interested in moving down

Oof yea I agree. But they still have Cunningham. We we’re playing with house money and for once in my life I trust front office to get two decent players.

I'm super happy neither Detroit or Houston won. Both were blantantly tanking. At least SA needs the talent. That team is dry af.

maybe for a superstar, but they have some talent on that team to build around
Keldon johnson looked great last year. many on this board are in love with vassell. Jeremy Sochan looks like a future elite role player (like a draymond green level contributor), branham was looking like a nice prospect late in the year

If Charlotte or Portland is interested I’m ready to play ball.

I imagine Portland will look for a win now package for #3. I’m not sure anything makes sense for both sides there. I could see them try and flip #3 to Toronto for Siakam if they want to keep Dame.

Reminds me of the year Dallas out tanked us down the stretch, and cost us a chance at Doncic, Trae, or JJJ.

Portland finishing 2-15 down the stretch is pretty impressive, while we went 7-10. Could feel this coming down the stretch, no idea what the FO was thinking.

Maybe the lottery doesn't go the same, though i am not sure why it wouldn't. I would have really liked a chance at Miller, or maybe more likely Scoot.

Just hoping Wallace is there at 6. Still should be able to add some nice players. I think the top 12 are ok, though i certainly have my favorites.

I think CHA will get Miller. He kinda checks their needs.

Yah, seems like a no brainer. Does Portland need Scoot? Does that make Lillard or Simons more available. Not an Amen fan, but Amen might be the perfect guard next to Simons and/or Lillard. Could Scoot fall to 4?

Yeah.. interesting development for POR. Are they gonna blow.it up? Then Dame is on the table.

Futz , 6 , 11 and future picks?

If they reloading, don't think they are interested on picks esp if Dame wants to win now. They probably ask for Suggs and WCJ lol

We have our foundation, tons of cap space, and two lotto picks. Relax. If Portland won the lotto, you would be justified in your outrage. That didn’t happen and we couldn’t have tanked any harder than beating out Portland. It’s not the end of the world.

I don’t think Dame would be happy getting traded to a young team. He wants to go to a spot where he can win the title now. He’s been vocal about not wanting to deal with young guys. Plus, the timeline isn’t right. By the time Paolo and Franz hit their primes, Dame will be washed and we will have hindered ourselves by giving up assets for him.

Dame is my favorite non-Magic player and I would love him here, but the fit doesn’t make sense for either side.

Not the results I was hoping for.

Think I’d rather we use the picks plus players in a trade.

Hopefully Miller falls to us and we swap him up, just like how Porter Jr fell in the draft due to "red flags".

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I don't know, Dame has seemed plenty happy playing in obscurity winning 40-50 games for the past decade, don't think i have ever heard any noise about him wanting out. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Tend to agree with you on the timeline, but i guess there are not that many opportunities to add great players either. I would think a team closer to contention should beat us on an offer. How good would OKC be with Lillard next to SGA, Giddey and Williams and Holmgren.

Or they trade Dame….

There’s the potential to be a major trade in a number of ways here. If they have the balls to do it
