Kudos for being ballsy.

Pick 36 for Beal? When Suggs and Franz get extensions, 1 year ahead of Paolo, Beal will have 2 years $111k due. That is like when our contention window should be at least opening...How do we build a roster with just those 4 contracts

Like it or not Beal's going to be the test case for superstar trade value under the new CBA. I am sure there are teams that just have to add a good player, but his contract is a behemoth, and the flexibility of luxury tax is gone.

Trade Suggs, Cole, Isaac, 6, 11, and future first rounder for Beal

PG: Fultz/FA
SG: Beal/Houstan
SF: Franz Wagner/Okeke
PF: Paolo/Bol Bol
C: Carter Jr/Mo Wagner

I like the thought but Beal will be 30 before the season starts. Assuming we’re 3 years away from developing the rest of the roster to contend, he doesn’t really fit our timeline.

Why would we be still 3 years away? OK from winning a ring maybe, but giving it a good rattle in the playoffs? A Beal signing could accelerate things considerably. Not advocating for this deal specifically but making a run at a player of his talent? WHY NOT?

Absolutely insane overpay...just Beal's contract makes him a deadly risk...forget about all those players and picks. He's a very good player on a HOF deal...and he misses a lot of time, and he's not getting younger as he's getting wealthier.

Please don't ever complain about the prospect of FVV at $30m if Beal is even on the radar

I am against trading for Bradley Beal.

Contract is too big and price too high.

Beal is owed like 152 M over the next 3 years with a 4th year player option. That would absolutely cripple our roster after we move pieces for him
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

would be worse than the Ibaka/Oladipo trade.

way too early for something like this and Beal would not be who i target. that is massive overpay for Beal, with his age, injury history and salary, not including his trade kicker

Only contenders should be going after Beal. He probably lands in Miami. His contract is too big of a risk long term.

I love reading these posts. Let me ask some of you.... Are there any players we can add/trade for in the world that are worthy of your approval? Every good player that becomes available:

~he's toooo old
~his contract is too muchhhhh
~his style doesn't fittttttt
~blah blah blah

People, the team has sucked for over a decade and now that we have young pieces/core to work with why not bring in a All Star via FA or trade? I mean FK aren't some of you tired of losing? Who cares about the $$, it's not yours. Let's make a move for once, FK it.

Yup.... with you on that sidestep. Washington is trying to take him off their roster balance. Such a bad contract. P.s. he's 57/60/40/50 games over the last 4 season and people want to pay him and average of $50 mill for what could be empty stat. Yup.... dodging that bullet hard. Maybe worth a decent player + protected pick + fillers... at most

I like how Pepe can call a player he doesn't like 6'6" if he measured 6'6.5" without shoes. If he liked them, then he'd call them 6'8". Shoes add one inch, and it's always rounded up.

Tell me you don’t understand salary cap and the new CBA without telling me.

Yeah, I’d rather have the option of resigning Franz and Paolo.

What if Paolo blows out his knee? What if Franz tears an Achilles? What if Conor knocks out Stuff? I'm not worrying about signing them until it's time to worry about signing them. Hell, if we keep missing the playoffs who's to say either one of them would even want to re-sign?

Time to win. Sorry

Screw Beal. I just had a disturbingly realistic dream that we traded Paolo, Suggs and a plethora of draft picks (including both this year's) for Giannis :D

I agree with your determination to do SOMETHING bold. Patience and "not skipping steps" is way overrated..I'd like to skip a few and we've gotten a boost with our lottery luck and great great picks the last couple of years. We are uniquely positioned with cap space, non-guaranteed contracts, young talent and multiple frps...we could make a big move that projects us well into the playoff picture this summer....

but not Beal. He's not THAT good and his deal is absolutely crippling and would undo all the positive fiscal positioning Weltman has worked for...I'm all for spending it...but not Beal. Not for this team.

He's got a no-trade clause...at this point in his glorious career, he's not looking this way anyway.

Beal hasn’t won anything, makes over $50 mil per (on average) over the next 4 seasons AND gets 15% raise if he’s traded.

HELL NO.

Even if we could trade just the 11th pick for him, I’d likely turn it down. He’s also averaging less than 55 games played per season over his last 4 years.

Again, HELL NO.

You know nothing about beal. One of the top players in the league. Bucket getter. Clutch. Playmaker. Would make Orlando a 4 seed!

That’s nice. Point out what is factually wrong in my post.

I like everything about Beal besides his contract and his potential injury concerns the last few years.
