He will make our spacing issues even worst :x

Nothing against guy, wish him nothing but best, but his fit with rest of a team isn't good. If we play Mortiz, our defense can be in trouble

That's a bummer. It didn't look that bad on the replay but then he quickly ran to the locker room so that's when it became clear it was possibly a fracture. Hopefully we can survive with Mo and Gogabyte while he is out.

M-Wagner has been very effective off of the bench. I agree it makes sense for the Magic to start the 3rd stringer over the backup.

Orlando's first real test. It was going to happen. The Utah game (without Fultz) showed the Magic can rotate the roster and still gut out wins.

It's Bitadze time!

Not sure if Moe would fit the starting lineup either. He doesnt really rebound well.

Goga is more of a homeless man’s (not just poor man  ) Wcj.

He fell on his hand getting a rebound at the end of the game.

Lmao, as expected 3 rotation players go down with injury in the first few weeks of the season for the Magic in a comical fashion

Good thing that unlike seasons past, we are built to withstand injuries ( just not to Paolo and Franz )

Man I was totally thinking this as I read the thread. With these injuries we can look at plugging in some of our new young pieces. And maybe it’s a good thing that Paolo got some burn at center at the World Cup. Not saying put him there a lot or anything… I hope to God that JI is ready to play more mentally and physically. But we are deeper now like you stated.

Bitadze fake starter for 12 minutes a game(sigh!),Wagner from the bench with extended minutes(sigh!!) and Banchero at center when it matter most.

problem is that Banchero replacement is like on 15 minutes restriction and no back to back play

we were short on front court and if Mosley does not comes up with something creative,we are gonna pay for that on long period.

I think we can slide Ingles up to the 4 a bit, to allow him cover for Isaac as he builds minutes up. Moe and Goga can split 5 minutes. Goga is a very talented center, but i find him troublingly inconsistent and at times boneheaded. There were rumours of issues in Indiana. I think he just might be a difficult character to coach, in terms of expecting consistency of performance. In FIBA play, he was also very up and down. That will limit him and put more pressure on Moe to hold down the 5, despite him not being defensively able for it.

The proportion of points scored by the bench was unsustainable. It's now gonna get worse, in the sense that scoring by the starters will be dire.

Fultz and Isaac really, really need to stay healthy these next ~20 games.

As far as I can gather, this is 4-6 weeks if there is no surgery required and 6-8 weeks if there is. GIven the cautiousness of the Magic, this means Carter could be out until game 30-35. Meaning there will be some 50 games left in the schedule after his return.

I guess the main negative, beyond that this sucks, is that Orlando will not have him available for any in-game tourney events at all.

ouch....WCJ has been absolutely terrible to start this year, but this is going to really test our front court.

WCJ box score plus minus -5.3 to start the season. 37.8% FG% is not really what you are looking for from your big...

Skybox wrote:I wonder if we’ll see any Paolo in the Jokic role? Kerr saw something. I know it didn’t really work in FIBA, but it’s intriguing…interesting mixes with Isaac at PF, next to him defensively. Certainly unconventional- but Paolo’s skill/size combo is definitely unconventional. Maybe revolutionary?

How many assists could Paolo get running the offense through him in that way?

Fultz, Harris, Okeke, ORL 24 frp(top 5), DEN 25 frp, 2 srps to POR
for…Brogdon, R. Williams

Williams isn’t a full-time C. He and Isaac platoon as elite defensive-minded PFs next to Paolo. Brogdon is the steadying, floor-spreading guard we need- who can play with any other guard on the roster (I’d prefer Simons- but likely costlier-even injured). Jett Howard on deck for kick out 3’s…perhaps rising fast in the rotation in this configuration.

Brogdon/Black
Suggs/Cole/Jett
Franz/Ingles
Williams/Isaac
Paolo/ Moe/Goga-limited, for matchups

I'd do this in a heart beat. Don't care if it's a bit of an overpay. (maybe switch Goga for Okeke, POR need a backup C)
Brogdon/Black this year,
Black/Brogdon next year (could move Brogdon in off-season or next year)
I love R. Williams, great energy, would love P&R with Franz. Great contract too.
I'd think POR would too.
(2) 1sts, (2) 2nds, and all those contracts are expiring, which they could move or just let fall off.

Wish him a speedy recovery. Him avoiding the injury bug seems to be inevitable. Next man up. Actually hope we start Goga so that we do not compromise the bench unit but the synergy between the Wagner brothers is really good so I could see Coach opting for that route to start the game.

can be? no....WILL BE...if you think dell was getting bodied by centers it would be way worse with moe....at least goga plays big and i think that may be the direction we go in

Swollen knee just before tip-off. Magic labeled it "knee inflammation" in their report to the NBA.
