Lavine is an option but i doubt we would do it.
I like Jones for a pair of seconds.

Murray is just off and not a good way mentally. Also he isn’t a great 3pt shooter. I’m not a fan.

Here's one that I could see actually happening.

Orlando Trades- Fultz or Gary Harris & Denver 25 for Brogdon.

This makes sense on so many levels when you take a step back. Brogdon is a bigger guard can play multiple positions, is a solid vet while not being locked down for multi years.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I am also not the biggest fan, but what other realistic target there is in the next 1 year window ? We want bigger guard who can defend, drive, and shoot.... and not be mid 30s. I am not saying he is the best option, but he is an option.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

While I am not mad about the idea of trading WCJ. I would want to point out that of all the injuries we deal with in a season he seems to be the one who returns to form and stays there the rest of the way?

only mentions Dallas as a possible trade.

Thankfully because Magic trading for Caruso would be a JOKE

It's just bellow mediocre enough to be true though.....

I have been saying we need to find another Ingles at guard and possibly Caruso fits the bill.

Also ticks the box for outside shooting.

Allows us to continue the current plan while getting someone who can actually play minutes?

Pairs well with a Cole + Caruso + Ingles + Mo + Goga 2nd unit.....

Not insider info, but I found a link on bleacher report that talked about us getting Doug Mcbuckets and Keldon Johnson for Fultz and Wendell...

Am I wrong in thinking Alex Caruso would be a huge pickup and a nice fit for us?

If Caruso is on the trade table I'm sure all the contenders are lining up to get him.

Wish we would’ve gotten in on Quickley. He gives me Maxey type potential the more mins he gets.

he's a big piece of the Bulls rebuild you'd imagine so any trade would require more than an expiring and late 1st I'd think. I also don't think he can run an offense which IMO is our biggest need but I'm just a random poster.

Like you said if he's available contenders will be after him and likely give up more than what we can/should.

I’d take the gamble on Lavine’s contract if they throw in AC

I'm very comfortable taking back Lavine. He'd be our 3rd option through Paolo's extension.

Alright, I’ve said this before. I’m not into league pass scouting anymore so these trade ideas are with very preliminary interest.

Coby White -
Young point guard who is a 3 point specialist. Even going back to his college stats would suggest Coby was aiming for this.

Alex Caruso -
A bit older but not so much that he wouldn’t give a few great seasons of impact. Defense, elite 3’s, intangibles.

Malik Monk -
That SAC-ORL game was eye-opening. I pulled up the stats, normal and advanced. He’s become a good player, 4 seasons of efficient 3 point specialty. 2 seasons of PER at 16.

Dejounte Murray -
I heard his game doesn’t look great when off-ball and Trae is naturally the driver. That doesn’t sound great with how I want Paolo and Franz to continue being Point Forwards like they were when we skyrocketed to 2nd in the entire league for a short while.

Zach LaVine, Jordan Poole -
It would be Otis Smith-esque to acquire these guys. A probable blunder of big proportions. But it’s really their contracts that only hurt at times. The sneaky idea here that would let me entertain-and-still-probably-veto is capturing more talent our way with those big contracts. Names like Tyus Jones, Kispert, Coulilaby, Caruso, White, etc.

Free Agents -
I’m going to exclude players who seem improbable to switch teams or wait for full FA freedom.

In no particular order:
Garrison Matthews
Gary Trent Jr.
Malik Beasley
Tyus Jones
Malik Monk
De’Anthony Melton
Grayson Allen

I’m struggling to remember length and defense profiles for these players but why not woo Melton, Monk, and Trent in summer free agency like as if they were super stars and sign Melton with one or two of the others. But with sneaky discount contract offers that leads to probably only one of them landing here. Markelle walks with freedom to his next team. Garry can be a trade piece right now. Minor trade feelers on Cole, Black, Caleb, and Jett but I feel there’s room to keep them too.
I wish I could see Anthony Black’s 3PA/% in the future to make me stop thinking about PG’s altogether. Suggs can be a great PG for us too, he fits everything we need and his on-ball prowess doesn’t matter with Paolo and Franz here.

I feel like I’m at only 20% of the entire pool of interesting players to look for trade and FA but I don’t want to spend more than 10 minutes on this post, lol.

Trades that work financially...

LaVine for Fultz/Harris/Okeke

LaVine/Caruso for Isaac/Fultz/Harris

Return to Orlando Magic
