Surprised by the apathy from some... this dude is THE voice of the magic and always has been. Great memories of 3-D and Nick draining 3's from Penny and Shaq assists and hearing Paul announce it.

Unless he is not a great person and has done something f'ed up, I don't get the apathy.

I'll miss him, but if Cole Anthony can get it...

I signed already, and posted about it long ago. How hard was it to arrange a private ride for Paul Porter on his home game nights and then Playoffs nights? That was one of the early rumors for why he left, he had a long commute.

First guy sounded nice enough to just roll with it, but it was through the TV and a little over the top at times. And then I started worrying about it a little more imagining it after like home game #20 already..

Weird that in a season going back to roots, they not only change a league-wide legendary Announcer, but even some of the classic clips like the 4th quarter Star Wars entry.

One of the things I’m looking forward to Thursday is the new announcer and seeing the vibe of the game with new music and the scoreboard. I wish Paul was back I’ve been going to games for 30 years and he’s such a huge part of the game, so I’ll be really observant of the new tryout.

I'd be happy to have him back and happy to get rid of all the other annoying crap blaring during game play in recent years. I've been going to games since some of the Shaq years and I miss the purity (dignity?). I know it's the strobe light, zero attention span, reality we now live in but I'll take Penn State uniforms over FAMU in the same way...Stuff, Paul Porter and the Magic Dancers...get rid of all of the other filler.

No thanks. WNBA teams don’t even have female PA announcers. Men are louder, higher energy. It’s bad enough we don’t have Paul or Star Wars hiring a female PA would just pour salt on the wound.

The first option was flat out bad, in my opinion. Did a depressed voice when naming the player who scored for the other team and sounded like he was about to cry - weird vibe.

Option 2 was average, nothing great nothing bad.

Were there any comms as to why PP was let go? Seems weird, timing wise, and it's even stranger if they've not said why.

As I was watching on TV last night, in the 1st quarter, I thought I heard him announce the score. I'm sure it's posted on the new jumbotron and all around the arena..
I don't think I'd ever heard that from a PA announcer before. Seemed kinda unnecessary.

The star wars thing is a tired old routine now. The whole thing needed a reboot so im glad tgey are moving in a new direction.

Now if only the words "make some noise" and "free tshirt" could be banned from the arena, we would be good.
