After saying opening night was the goal, nobody has said anything different in regards to Suggs making his season debut. Seems like they are being very coy about his status for tomorrow. Anyone know if he's going to give it a go or not?

SI-link: Three statistic projections for Magic's young core1. Paolo will lead Magic box score in scoring with better efficiency
Prediction #1 - Paolo average 28 PPG - 5 APG - 7 RPG - 9 FTA with more shots at the rim than ever before.2. Franz Wagner surpasses Paolo in Assists, rank 2nd in Points, and only trails Jalen Suggs in Steals
Prediction #2 - Franz jumps up to 26 PPG - 6 AST - 5 REB - 1.5 STL on 60% TS% for the most efficient all-around season of his career3. Desmond Bane will lead team in 3PA, 3P% and rank 3rd in PPG
Prediction #3 - Bane finishes as team's third scorer over 20+ PPG by averaging 24 PPG while hitting 40% of his 8 3PA per game.
That's 88 ppg between these three players. If that happens, the Magic is a top-10 offensive team and a probable 1-seed in the East.
I think this is all times in the last 20 years a team has had three 20 ppg players (not 100%):
(new for me to make tables - why is there a gap?)
I agree with these predictions expect Bane. I do believe Bane will score 20 Pts but 24 seems high. I was thinking 22 Pts per game. But I believe those predictions are legit.

Are we going to exercise the rookie options on any of the players?

Suggs officially listed as questionable on the initial injury report for tomorrow.
Even if he doesn’t play, it sounds like he’s pretty close.

If Suggs isn't ready to go, let him sit.
I might be the unpopular voice here but I prefer that we just win 50 games, become 3rd seed BUT going to the playoff FULLY HEALTHY
I dont want us winning 58 games and the 1st seed but our players are banged up.

If anyone was going to pull a WWE style surprise start, it’s Suggs. He’s all about the theatrics. He’ll probably come out with a boot on and sit on the bench, then tear it off and join the starters.
And I’m here for it.

Re: Official 2025-2026 Regular Season Thread
One thing that will be interesting to watch this season is how the counting stats for Paolo and Franz change and why.
If we play at increased pace, that should bump them up automatically. Will the extra spacing make it easier to score? Maybe we'll see some skill growth or improved shooting. Or perhaps the extra mouths to feed (or culture of teamwork) will put a damper on things.
Obviously improved individual efficiency and team results are the most important thing. It will just be funny if their numbers go up from pace and space and then suddenly everyone is paying more attention to them. Another example of how silly it all is.

I feel like Paolo might take the longest to adjust to a faster pace. He looked out of sync with the offense and I believe he had the most turnovers. That might have been him not fully engaged but we’ll see.

Yeah. The increased pace suits everyone bar Paolo really. Suggs and Franz were always better pushing it out quickly. Bane, TDS will get more open looks when not in set halfcourt. Wendell and Goga won't get as cluttered up with Paolo as they do in a slow paced offense. P5 just needs to adjust and he'll be fine. He's gonna sweat so much he'll have to play wearing a baseball cap with a drinks bottle on each side.

ESPN has another computer poll ranking odds to win a title over the next five years:Orlando is at 25%.
Right now the Magic is in the Alex-Martin-window for "winning a Championship by 2030". Here's hoping he is the genius he thinks he is!

Re: Official 2025-2026 Regular Season Thread
Not that its important, but did anyone see that a Magic player (not by name) was mentioned in the indictment of Terry, Billups, & Jones? it says something to the extent that Jones was tipped off by a Magic player that all starters would not play in a game in April. Not that the player would get in trouble, but curious to know who it was and who would have a relationship with Damon Jones.

Was in 2023 so had to be a recent Magician. I wonder if it could have been Fultz or Harris.
Google says:
The Tip: A co-conspirator in the scheme allegedly used a personal relationship with a regular Orlando Magic starter to learn that multiple top players would sit out a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in April 2023.
The Bet: That co-conspirator then passed the tip to defendant Marves Fairley, who placed a bet that the Cavaliers would beat the point spread. The Cavaliers won by 24 points, and Fairley and the co-conspirator profited.
Jones's Role: Former NBA player and coach Damon Jones is charged separately for his role in the gambling scandal. Prosecutors allege that Jones shared and sold confidential information on multiple occasions about player availability for Los Angeles Lakers games in February 2023 and January 2024. There is no public record of a connection between Jones and the specific Magic player who provided information to another defendant

My guess was Harris
