AB went 2-5 at the line with 4 turnovers.
A nice microcosm of why we lost the game as a team. Gotta be better. He seemed way more hesitant to do much of anything. He doesn't have to be good on offense, just average.

He's still young and good defensively, which is why I give him leeway on offense. Black has a +21.7 net rating.eyriq wrote:AB went 2-5 at the line with 4 turnovers.

No doubt he's a winning player. My expectation though is that he takes a third year leap and outside of a tighter handle I'm not seeing it. I think he's improved as a spot up shooter to the point that I trust him spotting up off the ball to provide space, and I've always liked his physicality in getting to the rim and his athleticism and strength to draw contact and get to the line, but I want to see increased comfort on-ball and more offensive IQ and it isn't showing up.

He needs to find a groove with his shooting touch like he did at the end of last season.eyriq wrote:basketballRob wrote:He's still young and good defensively, which is why I give him leeway on offense. Black has a +21.7 net rating.eyriq wrote:AB went 2-5 at the line with 4 turnovers.

We should up his minutes. If we had left him in and Tyus on the bench in the 4th quarter last night, I think we would've won the game.
I know Cole and Suggs took 3rd year leaps, but they were 6-8 months older than Black in their 3rd season. I think towards the end of this season, Black will look way better.

This team looks gassed and out of shape outside of Franz. I can see them losing this game

I’m calling a win.
Maybe Jase can be a spark? Suggs likely has the night off.
This is the time of year to hit adversity and figuring it out.

I don't think a traditional PG like Tyus is a good fit with Paolo and Franz. Suggs has become more of a volume 3-pt shooter, which is why Jase might be a better fit because he's in the same mold offensively as Suggs.

Until Magic get Mo Wagner back they are just a .525 ball club. He’s that important.
No,Suggs, No MoW, good luck. If we win it’s because we get lucky shooting 3’s.
So the Magic have a 20% chance of winning

What happened to Jonathan Isaac?
Is a trade pending?, is he just injured or worthless?

Talking about NET rating after two games is a fool's errand.

At the same time if he didn't slip (twice
We'll see though, he's gotta show a bit more at some point, this is a very important season for him.

You'll get 28 minutes of Tyus defending his brother and like it!

I think we see a little better chemistry tonight than the first two games. I think we come out and prove a point tonight and that we build from there. Go Magic!!!

Jase or we riot.
Or maybe they pull a Dallas and start Franz as PG (I’m half kidding).
Interesting tidbit, Black was the first PG off the bench yesterday (ahead of Tyus). Black is doing everything in his power to ensure everyone knows he’s not a point guard in ANY sense.
With that said, I think you should move Bane to the 1 and start TDS. Bane ran a lot of the point guard duties in Memphis when Ja went out. I think he’ll be alright for one game.
Bane
Wagner
Da Silva
Banchero
Carter

Where is Pepe when you need him?
2 pages of AB when Paolo was total dog ass and our 4 1sts went 1-8 from 3. But AB lost us the game.
Diabolical levels of delusion.

Great. Just what we don't need, more Anthony Black.
