Wow who on this planet would not do a JJ for Haslem trade? He is basically what other posters have already said a hundred times, a strong, hard working power forward who goes for rebounds.

lol, I thought he labeled his posts with a,b,c's?

I guess it was numbers ..

But if Miami is stupid enough to trade Haslem for JJ Otis had better have JJ in the passenger seat of the team jet flying him down to Miami for the exchange.

this deal has no chance of happening but if Orlando got Haslem, it might not get much hype...but it could put the Magic in the NBA Finals.

Haslem is the type of player that is on championship teams, in the same mold as Horace Grant, Charles Oakley, etc.

How many Magic trade rumors have EVER come true?

However, this would be a good time for that to change. And like the previous Heat fan said, Haslem is the type of player every championship team has...what we're lacking.

Imagine we get Haslem & Quinn/Parker as insurance PG....

THEN...trade Jameer, Battie, and Garrity for Andre Miller.

Could you dream about:

Miller/Dooling/Quinn
Evans/Bogans/Dooling
Lewis/Turk/Evans
Haslem/Lewis/Cook/Augie
Dwight/Foyle/Haslem

OMG Otis get your thumb out of your frickin a-hole and make this happen. I have not read the thread or even seen a link substantiating this rumor, but for the love of christ, please make this happen!!!!

Hoopsworld just writes this stuff so you will criticize Otis when it doesn't happen. There is no chance of this deal happening.

Talent wise, the trade is OK. But if Udonis Haslem were to come, what to do with Lewis? And if Lewis is the new SF, what to do with Turkoglu?

So, the only thing that make sense is for Udonis Haslem to come off of the bench. But then why trade for him.

WHAT?

YES!

Haslem is 1 of 2 guys I think ideal to bolster that front court. If we could give up as little as JJ and something else relativily small then I'd jump all over it.

Personally I'd think we'd be in a luxury situation. I dont think Hedo at the SG would be any more unsettling than Rashard at the PF. Infact probably slightly more productive.

I know its not ideal, but Rashard at the PF clearly isnt either, and we know that Hedo can play the SG role pretty well [when we had our first huge streak under hill Hedo filled that roll, and he did it at sacto]

Haslem for Redick plus stuff seems pretty far fetched to me.

I'd do it if Miami was willing.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Well, when you look at Memphis-Lakers-Stern NO trade will ever look far fetched to me, EVER.

I apologize to every member who put up the most idiotic trade ideas, including myself.

So people are deliberating over whether they would trade a guy who can't get minutes and has less than no D for a guy who could instantly help our team on both ends and maybe even put us over the top and give us a shot at going deep into the playoffs?

Wow, we're lucky to have Otisiah.

Its funny that people are bashing Otis for not making this deal or others. When it comes to this one, look at the source of the rumor, Hoopsworld or what i call them Hoopshype because they make stuff up, most of their stuff is speculation with no real basis from writers and fans. And yet people get mad at Otis if this so called rumor doesnt happen. Give it a rest.

want haslem?

This is the trade i would propose

miami trades: udonis haslem, jason williams, ricky davis, daequan cook, smush parker

miami gets: mike miller, navarro, cardinal, dooling (expring), garrity (expring), orl 2008 1st rd pick

memphis trades: mike miller, navarro, cardinal

memphis recieves: ricky davis, jason williams, cook

orlando trades: dooling, garrity, 2008 1st rd pick

orlando recievs: haslem, parker

we draft beasley and have enough $ (after trading UD) this summer to stay under the tax and sign wright

shaq/blount
beasley/cardinal
miller/wright
wade
navarro/dooling

great shooting, defense, well balanced attack...and in 2 yrs, cardinal, shaq and blount's deal's exprire for HUGE CAPSPACE

Return to Orlando Magic
