Damn, as the announcers were saying, Dwight should have done a big ball/little ball dunk on that final one, haha. Maybe with a "kiss the rim" thrown in. Man that would have been beyond sick.

But that Superman gimmic? Oh damn I was on my feet cheering like crazy after it. The fact that he threw the ball into the hoop made the entire thing better. DUDE WAS FLYING THROUGH THE AIR AND JUST THREW THAT CRAP LIKE SUPES THROWING PLANETS AROUND THE GALAXY!

I don't know why people are saying DH's dunk wasn't a dunk. NBA.com put that Keon Clark dunk was one of the best of the year (the one where he posterized Shawn Bradley) and he didn't touch the rim at all. So I'm just saying it's been determined before (>5 years ago) that it counts as a dunk under NBA standards.

Dwight was awesome

I loved the Superman dunk that wasn't a dunk. Heck, I'd say that was harder to do than a dunk!

Moon should have been in the finals with Dwight. Green's dunks were not impressive at all.

It was a dunk. As long as the ball is thrown downward its a dunk.

From wikipedia:

Slam dunk - A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both of his hands.

Dwight did jump, and he did manually power the ball downward through the basket.

Nice dunk Dwight!!

The Superman dunk was one of the best dunks that i ever seen. The whole routine with the "S" and the cape was awesome and unexpected. The fact that he flew and then threw the ball thru the hoop empathically made it even more spectacular. Congrats Dwight, ur representing Orlando well!

Funniest thing was listening to Kenny Smith freak out after the dunk. Singing the Superman tv show theme LOL And then losing his voice from yelling out "I can't believe it"!!!!!!!!!!"

I was impressed actually, he was with his head at rim level with just about every of his dunks. Nontheless I agree with you though, the creativity was lacking a bit. That dunk where he took his shoes off, what was that?

i just rewatched the superman dunk..

its nasttyy..

although he doesnt touch the rim..its actually harder to do what he did....going at the speed he was going.... to throw the balin the hoop that strong without missing the rim...its like the skills competition where they have to pass it between the hole...but he does it with ferocity

I personally did not think much of the superman dunk. He had height, but did not finish the dunk itself. He almost missed the dunk entirely.

The back of the backboard dunk was far more interesting for me.

at first i wasnt impressed bc i just was woken up right when he was doing it and thought it was an easy move...but after watching it awake...i see that it was halarious..the act/presentation was +1 more than the actual dunk itself..even if he did throw it down on the rim itself...the build up and props would've been defining.

dwight revolutionized the dunk contest last year with the props 'sticker'....now more people are using props..like the cupcake...

this year dwight went to the next level wearing a cape...lol

the best part of the cape is that dwight's huge frame..and that small cape and tight blue shirt....looked very urklesque..haha

oh and lastly..this thread can now be changed to dwight got robbed of allstar mvp.
