It's infinitely better than "Deebo" or "D12", IMO.
I don't see what's wrong with Superman, it's not too corny.
All you have to do is think of it in its original Nietzschean context.
Dwight Howard is literally the next step forward in human history.

Has that '80s nickname ring to it. Nicknames nowadays always have to be so short.

Not to mention unoriginal.

CP3
AI
AI(2)
D12
D-Wade

I like Chairman of the Boards, but I think after the dunk contest, it's Superman. Too many non-fans are even calling him Superman for it to not stick.

It's definitely Superman.

But D12, D-Flight and Daily Double get thrown about. Manchild back in the day worked as well.

My all-time favorite sports nickname is Kid Dynamite.

So I'm going to call him that.

yea it's definitely going to be Superman now. He'll forever be remembered for that dunk, and now the Magic are playing superman music for him whenever he does something.

Don't be surprised if we start seeing those pictures of him from the contest on billboards, and I wouldn't be too surprised if once he starts getting endorsement deals they'll be using the Superman idea to promote their products (though i wonder if the company that owns the rights to Superman will allow it).

There was a little item in the Sentinel that said his representatives on working on a deal with DC Comics related to some kind of promotion.

I thought that was either "Boom goes the Dienermite" or JJ "Dyno-mite" Redick - as in Dr3's signature image.

Superman seems pretty good though.

Names like Daily Double and D12 are just awful.

Howard can have any Man of Steel deals, so long as DC Comics agrees to its market share (i.e. Gets Paid). (Don't forget that if Howard sells Gatorade whilst dressed in a cape, he is effectively advertising for DC Comics as well; FREE advertisements for DC Comics). Any MoS advert would not be blocked by DC Comics on financial levels, only creative levels.

One thing is clear, Warner Bros. are cashing in on all of this as the owners to the music being played night after night!
But even better, I read a rumor that DC Comics will write Howard in to a comic! That would be different.
