I read conflicting rules on the deadline.
Some believe that so long as a player is waived by Saturday, he could sign.
Others believe that the signing itself has a deadline of Saturday. As the waiver wire in the NBA is 48 hours, then essentially the deadline has already passed.
I don't know which is true.

A player has to be waived by his team by March 1st in order to be eligible to be on the playoff roster for his new team.
Cassell has already been waived, he is eligible. Even if it took a week to sign him now, he'd still be eligible because he was waived prior to the deadline.
It's going to make for an interesting day with rumors about which teams will cut/waive/buyout players today.

Twoine's good days have long passed him bye.
I guess if there choice was to have Auggie on the bench or Twoine for the playoffs, I choose the wiggle just due to his experience.

Just heard rumors of Ricky Davis and Gordan Giricek also.
Ricky would be nice if he understands his role which is highly unlikely.
where did you hear that at? I havent heard that name mentioned yet...it doesn't make sense to waive him...

yea the Davis thing doesnt make sense at all...
as for Walker, Otis would pass too i'm sure...i'd have to think about it myself, same thing with Marbury if he gets bought out...Veterans can help in the stretch...no matter how bad they are in other places, as long as you short leash them and it costs you very little, you should at least explore the idea...that's my opinion...

I had a link for the Ricky Davis but i cant seem to f'n find it now
But anyways it was also mentioned in my first post of this thread......An insider Hollinger article.
I doesnt seem to make sense since hes an expiring...But so was Cassell.
Im thinking maybe their whole salary for the year hasnt been paid yet and they save money with a buyout?
Cassell's buyout was only 800,000.
Anyone know about this?

We are not picking up anybody...and we shouldn't unless we have an injury situation. Minutes get shorten in the playoff. SVG has a rotation he likes...and getting any of these guys on the decline (probably for just he remainder of the season) doesn't make sense.
It is unlikely that we win the east this season anyway. We need to focus on winning at least one and hopefully two playoff series with our core guys...and give them the experience for our prime championship window next year and even more likely the year after.
