At this point take all these reports with a grain of salt.

The only thing we know for sure is………

DWIGHT GONE!!!

How and where are yet to be determine. Here is the latest rumor.

Here’s the latest one on Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard coming to the Lakers, courtesy of Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel.

The Magic send Howard, Hedo Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson to the Lakers for Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. The Toronto Raptors are also part of the rumor sending Jose Calderon to Orlando, although no one is quite sure what would complete that part of the trade.

This is all suppose to go down on March 1st.

If we were to believe this to be true (who knows if it is or not), the Magic should be ecstatic to make this deal. I wouldn’t even give the Lakers a chance to change their mind before faxing in the paperwork.

As far as the Lakers you can tell panic is starting to set in.

The only reason they would consider bringing in Rasheed Wallace is if they were going to lose both of their big men. Just remember this is like the 12th time Dwight being traded has been a done deal, so I wouldn’t put a lot of stock into it.

That website seems sketchy, btu Calderon, Pau, and Bynum for Dwight, Hedo, and Jameer? Not bad at all.

We can then flip Pau and J-Rich for a star wing or SF.

Yeah, not to mention the fact that Hedo becomes [even more] obsolete with Nash on the team. You'd have to bench him if you acquired Nash.

Could be a blessing because Hedo could finally come off the bench and try to spark the second unit.

Oh, without a doubt. But if anyone thinks for one second that SVG would run Hedo primarily with the bench unit, they're delusional. We'd continue to see Hedo out there sharing playmaking duties and loafing on defense. He wouldn't run the offense nearly as much, but he'd still get his fair share of opportunities.

things are picking up steam. Dwight just might be pressured into staying with all the crazy rumors to him going to LA(which past reports have him as his 3rd choice behind nj,dal)

One thing we need to consider when talking about Steve Nash. He's 38, right? He's in Phoenix. What is Phoenix known for? Yes, that's right. What could happen with Nash if he came here could be a huge facepalm. We are talking about a potential giant downhill slide in ability and health. I'm talking about the miracle workers that revitalized Hill's career and might be extending Nash's, are members of Suns' staff. We don't know if Nash would be able to keep that up after he leaves those voodoo magick dudes.

I still don't get why people don't think that if we could get BOTH Bynum+Gasol, get rid of Jameer and Hedo....and then flip one of the Lakers bigs into something like Kevin Martin+Dragic+Scola....then trade Ryan+JJ/JRich+BBD for somebody like Monta....and come back with a team of like

Monta
Martin
Wright
Scola
Bynum

....that we couldn't make a serious splash

That's a very potent team right there, with ANY of those 5 being able to score 20 in a night. Hell, Monta, Martin, and Bynum could put up 30 on any given night...

I'm trying to remember but its been a while, anyone know how legit is Robert Littal's twitter ?

I think he reported stuff in Summer 2010 Lebron mania that was true ?!
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

I know he's not a SF... but maybe Ellis? :dontknow:

I posted it yesterday that this is the BEST possible move we could make. The trick is to get Nash without giving up Jameer, Ryan or picks. Nash is already familiar with Jrich and Earl Clarke. Putting him and QRich into the SL would make us better offensively and defensively.

I suspect a three team trade with Miny would be the likely scenario.

Wolves get: Redick, Rights to Fran

Phoenix get: Beasely, Orton, Duhon, Harper

Orlando gets: Steve Nash, Lopez

PG-Nash/Jameer
SG-Jrich/Wafer
SF-Qrich/Hedo
PF-Ryan/BBD
C-Dwight/Lopez

That's a championship contender IMO

I wouldn't trade Nelson in any Dwight trade. Make the Lakers take Doo-hon+Q and their three year deals.

I can imagine the conversation with the Suns' GM

Otis: "We want Steve Nash"
Suns: "We want Ryan Anderson"
Otis: "You can't have Ryan"
Suns: "You can't have Steve"
Otis: "But I .."
(Suns hang up the phone)

This is also one of the reasons why I'd go after Ellis first; IF the consensus is we're not trading Dwight.

Still don't get why everyone hates on Q's contract all that much. Not like we are paying the guy $6mil/yr or something....that is a tiny dent into the cap, and he brings toughness, decent defense, some 3pt shooting, and is the greatest cheerleader known to man.

There is absolutely no way I'm trading Ryno for Nash.

I'm not opposed to having Q on the team, nor do I hate his contract. But it makes much more sense *financially* to flip Q with Doo-hon in lieu of Nelson.

Well, that depends on the point of getting rid of each player. Are you simply trying to clear cap? If so, for who? I believe Duhon can be bought out of his final year for $1mil or something, it isn't fully guaranteed. So we could get rid of him next summer easily (when the FA class is 10x better than this summer). I would prefer to get rid of Jameer for the simple purpose of forcing us to get a better PG. Again, the Duhon/Q contracts are tiny blips. They aren't exactly preventing us from doing anything financially. Bigger fish to fry.
