i love how the Magic finally get a nationally televised game only because the NBA hope the Heat can continue their streak against us. i would love to see the Magic put a halt to their run!

David Lee elbowed Dwight in the face as he went to score... dwight was pissed and needed 3 stitches for his bloody lip lol. I saw on twitter dwight rubbed lee's head earlier in the game and it pissed him off?
edit: never mind about the head rub... apparently artest did that.

Another L for the Lakers. Dallas hot on their heels now just 1 game back. Circle 4.2.2013 on the schedule. Then Lakers got to visit Portland and then play Golden State and finish with the Spurs. Could easily lose all 3 of those.

I was under the impression it'd be beneficial for the Lakers to make the playoffs so we get their 2017 pick. I realize that's pretty far off, but picks are picks. Might as well hope they get in and relish in their loss to San Antonio/OKC in the first round (a sweep would be nice)

Dwight Howard suffered a bruised lip and bloody mouth that required three stitches due to an elbow from David Lee on Monday. Howard also received a technical foul and a personal foul on the play.

"He got away with a shot," Howard said. "I will remember this game. I will remember that shot. He said he wasn't trying to do it. You can look at the play and see it for yourself. I will take care of it later."

Howard avoided retaliating in the second half of the game to avoid a second technical.

What an idiot... you don't announce to the world that you're going to retaliate... that only gets you in trouble. LA plays GS on April 12. I bet Dwight does nothing. All bark.

I've addressed it in other threads. There is no reason draft wise to root for the Lakers.

This year has no implication on our 2017 Lakers pick. We get the Lakers pick 2 years after they satisfy their obligation to give their 2015 1st rounder to Phoenix.

In 2013, the Lakers are giving their pick to the Suns if they miss the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, they're giving the worst pick out of the Cavs, Kings, Lakers, or Heat (it's a complicated mess of swapping options). But either way, they will satisfy that deal no matter what happens this year, though it's not important to us. 2015 is important and this is what needs to happen for us to get a pick:

LA will send the Suns the 2015 pick if it is 6 or higher. If it's 5 or better, they keep it. Then in 2016 and 2017, it's top 3 protected. If they can't send a pick to the Suns before 2017, we get nothing.

The only thing that matters to us is the 2015 draft. Lakers need to be outside the top 5 picks in the 2014-2015 season and we'll get their 1st in 2017 so long as it's 5 or higher.

MWP has a torn lateral meniscus. Lakers have not yet specified about surgery for Metta. If so, a general recovery time estimate might be 6-8 weeks.

Jazz and Mavs are only 1 game behind Lakers now haha. Playing out just as I hoped... hope it goes down to the wire with the Lakers missing out... that way they receive the most negative press possible.

would be hilarious if the lakers miss the playoffs with all the talent they have and the best player to play the game since jordan left.

I have no faith in Utah, they have been struggling for a long time. Dallas though is on a roll and they are veteran team. I cant wait to see the look on Dwight's and Kobe's faces if they miss the playoffs.

LA just announced he will indeed have surgery... out at least six weeks. Go Mavs.
