That's a disappointment on the Nuggets' management more than their players, because Iguodala has almost always been unhappy in every single season of his whole career so far. Trading for him was never a smart move, and the proof is that Iguodala turned down less guaranteed money and years just to get away from them.

No way is that late draft pick or draft picks worth adding $24M + Tax Penalty to our salary.

No "damn you Hennigan" needed here.

I know it's not needed, but I expect some Magic fans saying so, hence the "in before .." :) .. We need picks, but these picks are low and this price is too high IMO

One interesting thing to think about is Cali's high taxes vs Texas. Especially if Dwight needs to take a paycut to go to GSW. That might tip the scale in favor of Houston. Oh wait, I forgot, Dwight only cares about winning.... ;)

How did Houston miss out on Smith?? Who has he signed with?

No, but what I'm saying is, Dwight is in Aspen with his guys talking about this and they see GS pull this off and ready to S&T more guys to get Dwight. Howard asked Houston to bring in a 3rd superstar. They haven't pulled it off yet. Not saying JS is a superstar, but we know Dwight is his friend and that is a great trio.

As I closed with, will be interesting if Dwight does go to GSW because they took action. Assumes Houston doesn't sign Josh Smith or someone else before Howard makes a decision.

I'm really curious to see what GS does next. They can't be done right? If so the Warriors just traded 20 million in expiring contracts and multiple draft picks just to add Iggy? Besides that adding Iggy means less opportunity for Barnes and Clay..

It is because he could not move. Laterally. Literally.

It'd be something like Thompson for one of our rookies/2nd year guys and then Bogut for a TPE in a separate deal. no?

I don't see why signing Iggy means they HAVE to trade Barnes. Iggy can start at the 3 and he can also slide to the 2 to give Klay rest. There are enough minutes to go around for all 3 of those guys to get 30+

So is GSW genius for the picks they sent to Utah? Or stupid? Sent 14 and 17...can't send consecutive years...so if LAL demands picks in addition, they just throw up their hands and say 'oops, can't...unless you want '19'

It's a smart move. Their 2014 pick won't be great and they already will have tons of salary committed for years to come. They aren't building through the draft so it doesn't matter much to them now or in the near future. I'm sure they explored other options but if all they basically had to trade was a couple late 1st for iguodala of course you do that. Especially if that tips the scale to help you get Dwight to come too.

Well, I'm not sure I would say Duhon bolted exactly, but it is an interesting outcome. 'Course Bynum could resign in Philly still, couldn't he?

I did not say that though.. I just don't think wasting all those draft picks, just to add Iggy on 12 million a year while you have Barnes and Clay around, makes a whole lot of sense..
