I wish Jacque Vaughn and like how The Magic worded the release as anyone who took this job knew they were in for a lot of losses.

He did a good job developing talent although there are questions about how that worked out for Maurice Harkless and Andrew Nicholson.

This team was supposed to at least contend for the 8th spot this year and the progress was not there and I felt weeks ago that he lost this team/the players tuned him out.

Right now, it's just James Borrego, Laron Profit and Jay Hernandez on Staff so at the very least, someone will be added to the coaching staff.

I would prefer they finish the season with Borrego and look for a coach this offseason.

Who that is, is an open question.

Scott Skiles has wanted this job for a long time and tried to get out of his Milwaukee Bucks deal to take it.

He also was the other candidate interviewed when Doc Rivers became head coach in 1999.

The Magic are going to want an experienced coach and I think he would do a good job.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out but Rob Hennigan's "day by day" comments mean they might very well bring in someone during The All-Star Break.

This feels like the weirdest firing, even with Malone getting canned because that was the owner's weirdness. They don't really know why they fired Vaughn, like basically they thought he was a good coach and aren't sure why they were losing? Day-to-day is the plan now? Ugh, that's terrible.

I think it's just how they handle business. They use a lot of empty and optimistic language that has little substance.

they know exactly why they fired him. what are they gonna say? he sucked and the team underachieved this year? good guy, good "principles", always was a stop-gap coach and it seemed FO had put into him to play faster and play the younger guys rather than ben gordon and willie green
