I trust Rob Hennigan's expertise. If he overpays him its because he thinks he is worth it and because that is the amount that it will take to pry him loose.

One of the things I like about paying Barnes vs paying Fournier is that he is a true SF that can defend 2-4 well. He is very strong, long 6-11 wingspan and great quickness/lateral speed.

He is also a very good shooter with a great form. His biggest criticism is that he is not a playmaker or a go to guy. But I feel that is what Mario will eventually be for us. Hezonja | Barnes | Gordon is a long, agile and super athletic trio that could be tremendous defensively.

I agree with you. Barnes would be a great addition.
If not barnes i want batum.
I am not so high on parsons.
Who Do you want in the draft?

Funny, I was pushing for a Harris for batum last season and people called me mad and Nico was done

Yes i believe you, you can never do it right for some people here.
I think batum would be an excellent addition with his defense and shooting

Harris was expiring so getting batum would have been a steal.
The people saying that we should go after batum r the same people who said he was finished last year. Realgm posters r so bipolar

I'd hate to pay Batum the max. Neither would I think he should be the biggest acquisition for the summer. He's wildly inconsistent.

How many would do this trade?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h2c99j9

plus we give a future pick to the Pelicans for their 2016 lottery.

No No No! Jrue Holiday? I wouldn't even give up Payton for him and yet you want to throw in Vuc and a future pick you have to be kidding me. Are you a New Orleans fan?

None of those guys is going to help us that much. I wouldn't mind adding them as backups but hopefully we can do better than those guys.

One small deal that we should definitely make this offseason is to sign Dwight Powell. He has fallen out of favor since the Mavs signed David Lee, but he was doing pretty well before that as a backup PF/C. He's very athletic, has range and he isn't a defensive sieve. Could be a nice backup to Horford.

Unfortunately this year free agency will be a bit watered down. Heres hoping we can pull off some acquisitions but not spending all if it on b level players. I think we can get players by sliding them right into our cap space as well so look past free agents and into teams ready to start over or one ready to get rid of some players to get a durant and horford

Yes please I'd be all for Powell he can provide energy off the bench that we desperately need. I would like to re-sign Evan and Jason I'm not that big a fan of Barnes even at UNC he didn't impress me much that being said I wouldn't be shocked if we went after him.

Horford to the HEAT makes sense with Bosh's health in question.

The Dwight Powell idea is rather unique and I like it. We need to shore our frontcourt in a huge way this off-season.

It's not even really debatable at this point in their careers if "damaged goods" Jrue is better than Elfrid. He is much better.

He's in fact one of 2 people on the Pelicans with a positive +/- on the Pelicans, and hes by far the best.

If you look at Elfrid's stats it's debatable if he's even improved this year. He's slightly improved his shooting (it's still really bad) but his passing, rebounding, and defense are all worse. Unless something clicks this summer for Elf, he'll be a below average starter in the NBA.

On top of that we've all seen that the pairing of a non-threat pg that can't shoot with Victor performs very poorly. The magic would be much improved if they could swing a deal to bring a consistent threat from the PG position. Trading Vuc opens up the ability to bring a center that would be a defensive anchor. I love Vuc, but he needs a different kind of team around him to win with him. It's not this team. Imagine we get a defensive presence center like Ezeli. A team like this would easily make playoffs next year and threaten a top 3-4 position. It would be much more balanced and still have plenty of room for growth.

Hassan Whiteside was asked about what he might think of the opportunity to become the franchise player of a team...

"That'd be nice," Whiteside said when asked. "I feel like a lot of people want to be that. But I want to win more than anything. I don't really want to be the face of a losing franchise. You want to be a face of a winning program. And it's always easier to get people to come to Miami."

Sign horford
Resign Evan
Team option on Ersan
Team option on marble (cheap)
Resign smith
Draft a F with huge upside

Dipo,Mario,AG,Horford,Vuc lineup

with possibility to play smallball when needed (when Vuc or horford r on bench)

Elf,Dipo,mario,AG,Horford/Vuc

Dipo,Elf,CJ
Mario,Evan,CJ,marble
AG,Mario,Evan
Horford,AG,Ersan
Vuc,Horford,Smith

Still have money under the cap and can be a player in 2017 when Ersan expire

well i wont argue that he is better because he is. But if he cant play 82 games per season and has minutes restriction, I'd rather hold on to elf for another year and see if he can improve. Before considering brining someone else in.

I see people still being unhappy with the Harris trade.
But if we turn Harris+Frye into horford would that make you happier? It would to me

I think most would agree that Jrue is better than Payton right now.

I also think most would consider it insane to think he is so much better that we would add Vuc to a deal to get him. You are criminally undervaluing Vuc.

You don't throw in a top ten (arguably top five) center for the opportunity to bring in another center. That's just crazy.
