I'm still under the mindset that I don't think Frost knows yet. I think he is TORN about what to do. I think Nebraska is his dream job, he wants to go there and be their coach. He wasn't expecting to have the opportunity so soon, and he's torn. In his press conference he said the following things:
- It would be hard for him to leave this group of guys right now
- He would be surprised if he wasn't a candidate for Nebraska after the year we're having and him being from there
- He's a loyal guy, loyal to his family, friends, coaching staff, players, alma mater, etc
I think at the beginning of the presser you could see his emotions. He really wants this week to be about the players, but he knows the questions are there and I think he just hasn't made up his mind. Some of the rivals guys are reading into it pretty heavily, because he would refer to UCF kind of in the 3rd person, but then other times he'd say "we". And personally I think that's just how he talks, I do the same for my company, sometimes I say "we" sometimes I refer to the company separately.
I think Frost wants to stay and finish what he started with this group of players, but he also wants to coach at Nebraska. Maybe he's worried if he doesn't go now, Nebraska finds a great coach that's successful and there for the long haul and he misses his chance. That's unlikely, given how coaching goes these days, but IMO i'm betting that's his mindset, i know it'd be mine.
