I still think Magic will be in a trade as third team for Lakers getting Kawhi Leonard. Like Ingram ,Kuzma ,Ross to San Antonio/ Ball and Deng to Magic, Kawhi, Vucevic to Lakers.

Yeah it does. We need another point guard and we get a little cap relief as Grants deal is expiring and Mozgov makes a little less then Biyombo. Plus Grant was former first rounder so we get a look at a guy that has talent and has good assist numbers and shot it decently a couple year ago from three and is capable of playing better D where he has shown to be an average defender so far. So he could be a decent get for us and possibly even start over Augustin though right now he probably would be the backup. Chicago gets more room as they unload Grants deal and Stone can be waived up until August 1st. Biyombo is a better center then Mozgov plus Biymbo played better then he did with us when he was previously there so it may be an upgrade for them as they are over the cap and only have a few avenues to get better. It i s aminor deal but it makes some sense for all concerned. Sorry but you should know that trades have to be fair for all. Alot of proposed trades on here don't take the other team into much consideration and overvalue what our guys could get in a trade. I personally thought and I thought most viewed Biyombo as pretty much untradeable. So actually getting more then just a bag of potato chips is actually surprising as I am just fine with this deal for us. What were your expectations for a Biyombo alone trade. I didn't think anyone would trade for just him but I guess I was wrong and am glad I am.

The trade itself is fine in a vacuum. But the implication that Jerian Grant was the PG our front office was targeting and we were more interested in a lateral Biyombo move than a Vucevic move is disappointing to me.

Just have to hope they have more moves in mind after the “evaluation season.”

THANK YOUUUUUUUUU

I swear you guys find a way to criticize and complain just about anything.

WE WON THIS TRADE.

There’s no way around that, homer eyes or not it’s a clear win for Orlando.

It’s not a pretty trade sure, but ANY trade involving BiyomBUM is not going to be pretty.

We lack PG depth? - we got a solid young-ish PG for free.

We have too many centers? - we traded dead weight contract for another dead weight contract that’s owed LESS than Biyombo and potentially will agree to a buyout.

I’m not sure what you guys were expecting out of a Biyombo trade? Did we give up a 1st to get rid of him? No. Did we give up significant assets to get rid of his contract? No.

If Mosgov agrees to any kind of buy-out this is a homerun in my eyes.

Really? We are talking about Biyombo. Not having to surrender a pick or more to trade him away is actually a positive. Sorry but I don't see how you could expect more then what we got. We sort of got a pick as Grant is young and is a former first rounder who showed some promise to where he could possibly even start for us. Plus we get some cap savings as Gran't's deal is expiring and Mozgov's deal is the same length as Biyombo's but is a little less. So this is a fair deal for all and I don't know how you can expect more.

I havent seen hornets forum yet, but to think about the idea they r back with a starter on their worst team of history made me smile already. I believe in Grant, Mozgov contract aint much worse tahn biyombo's right? They both expire in 2 years. So its not that bad imho.
Loul Deng you are the next and we can finally say we got the 3 worsts contracts of 2016 summer... not a championship ring but a reason to whining for.

I dont think it is a disappointing move.

I think its more practical or financial/situation at this point. Having A 10million salary riding the bench is better than an 18 million (in Biz) riding the bench.

I have my doubt Mozgov stays, if he does, I dont think we’d be playing him as much minutes as Biz. We also get an ok point guard.

The prospect of having: Bamba+Vuc+Birch+Moz is better than Biz+Bamba+Birch+Moz, imo.

Vuc is still at least provides another dimension to the game. biz is just a glorified Birch.

How though? He was used for another insane albatross contract on a useless player with Dwight, then the same with Biz. Are there any centers left on horrible deals for two more years we could flip him for?

It has to be a buyout scenario, it just has to be.

This is not very meaningful but very good trade. We did Biyombo a favor becouse here he would dnp. We get a much better player in Mozgov. He can catch the basketball, he can roll, he even has some handles, he is very physical defender. His only role could be training partner for Bamba but that is enough for me. Mo wouldnt learn a thing from Biyombo, but from Mozgov? He even has a ring to motivate our youth.
In Grant we got asset, he is expiring. Clifford is very high on Briscoe, Jerian can end up as 3 rd stringer. We even save 1 M next year which is underrated.
I know this deal is marginal but i love it. We got rid of Biyombo guys woohoo!
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

LOL for real?

This trade was proposed on TT board only the 2 seconds were coming from charlotte and it didn't get much action but people said no. The poster bumped the thread. Now real life we happened and we gave the 2 seconds? We don't use 2nds really anyway but still.

edit to add the trade proposal did not include chicago/jerian
