I agree, I didn’t think they played poorly. It was the little things.

I just don’t like the +/- stat. This wasn’t Franz worse game but he didn’t play well either. He struggled for the most part yet had a postive +/-. He shoot 19 time to get 20 points and 6 turnovers.

Not saying it wasn’t the case but the +/- makes it seem like Franz is the reason why the Magic played well when he was on the court when you would actually have to watch the game play by play to see if that was the case.

This is no dig at at Franz but I just hate the stat.

The Magic's defense turns into absolute garbage when Franz isn't on the court.

He wasn't all that good tonight offensively, but the defense just completely craters every time he sits.

56-52 to start the 3rd quarter.

From 12:00 to 6:20 when Franz checked out, the Rockets scored 10 points on 13 possessions. It was still a 4 point game when Franz checked out.

From 6:20 to 3:27 when Franz came back in, the Rockets scored 14 points on 5 possessions. In fact, they scored on every single possession they had in that 3 minute stretch. When Franz came back in, Orlando was down 15.

From 3:27 to 0:00 with Franz in the game, the Rockets scored 8 points on 8 possessions.

So to recap...

Franz IN the game: 18 points on 21 possessions
Franz OUT of the game: 14 points on 5 possessions

I hate this needs to be said every time.... What are we practicing? Breakdown after breakdown whenever an opponent goes into a zone... It's like we forget how to play ball, zones in the nba are used sparingly for a reason because most teams would torch a zone.... But us?

Supporting cast back to its old self laying an egg. AB looked unplayable again. This kid is just impossible to have back to back games where he shows signs of looking like a rotation player. WCJr once again playing like complete trash. Paolo and Franz got theirs and even Goga looked like his old self. Same story. Nobody else shows up. Just tired of the same story.

Dunce Cap goes to Anthony Black with -5.0 net points.

Harris and KCP round out the dunce podium.

Paolo, Franz, Goga were all positive.

There’s just no way we keep WCJr next year. Goga has clearly outplayed him, and most likely we keep Mo Wag. But Goga had a HUGE game. He was the reason we even had any chance. He made his impact immediately upon re-entry. When will coach know and acknowledge Goga>>>WCJr??? Look at tonight’s comparison on the box score alone. Pretty much sums it up….

Starters +1.4
Bench -9.4

Ouch.

AB getting the dunce cap after getting the sweater vest says everything about his inconsistency this season.

Goga had a great game, oNet+5.2, tied with Paolo.

Trading WCJ is not guaranteed with his $20 mil per contract extension not kicking in until 2026... let that sink in... he'll still be on his old contract next season.... :banghead:

Where has Goga been the past 10 games? He is way to inconsistent right now

What do you think the team should do/should’ve done to attack a zone?

Same way any team would..... Move the ball, v cut or shread the gaps in the defense or just shoot out of it .... But we're just passing the ball slowly back and forth like it's 2k rec or something

Coach was looking for any reason to sneak WCJ back ahead of Goga in the rotation, and that concussion (or whatever it was) back in January was the perfect catalyst. You see how much Goga outplayed him tonight and yet he still ended up with only 4 more minutes played.

JI had 3 rebounds and 3 stocks in 8 minutes... and Mosley decides his defense wasn't needed in the 2nd half. Brilliant.

I think JI's lack of offense has them treating him like another big and splitting minutes with Goga as part of the bench big brigade.
