Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
I'm feeling so geeked about Keyonte that I want to wager all my RealGM credibility on this gamble! He takes the kind of shots that game changing NBA guards take. I think the kid is special.

3 first round picks
Vassell is younger than Murray.
So it would probably be
2023 Bulls pick
2024 Magic pick
2025 Nuggets pick
2026 Magic pick
i assume ?
ofc there is scenario where Vassell simpl isn't for sale.
No way
if it s the price you just say no, lol
but I cant see them say no to Vassell for Cam Whitmore + cole+ Den FRP
I would expect them to say Hell No...Vassell is a Mikael Bridges clone. Long athletic defender who can shoot 3s at a high clip and may have untapped offensive game. 19ppg with 39% from 3 and improving
I bet we could've gotten Vassell with our own 1st rounder unprotected if we made the trade before the lottery.

Make a thread. The case for Keyonte George and sell us on the thought. Rn, I'm not buying any of his stock.

I don't get the George hype, especially if Dick is available. He could be if "JJ_Redick-had-played-defense". Why wouldn't Orlando want that???

Mostly it's just eye test stuff, the way he moves with the ball, the look of his shot, his swagger, the strength he shows getting to the rim. He's got the "look" of a Beal or Lillard type scoring guard and I can't say I've seen it in any recent guard prospects.Skin wrote:eyriq wrote:I'm feeling so geeked about Keyonte that I want to wager all my RealGM credibility in this gamble! Dick is considerably lower upside than George to me.
That doesn't mean George will hit that higher ceiling, but it's pretty clearly there.

As a Baylor Alum, I approve this message!!
No but serious, I really like the idea of George in our offense with Franz-Paolo and hopefully a healthy Fultz.
Obviously you hope the lotto luck falls for one of the two super mega jackpot prizes but I’m not disappointed at all if we walk away with picks in the #4-8 range and George is one of our guys.

Scoot sliding is an interesting angle to watch. Who leaps him? Amen, Ausar, and Miller seem like the most likely candidates.Knightro wrote:

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
Mock Drafts and Big Boards appear to be starting to crystalize a little bit. Not necessarily in ways that will make Magic fans happy though.
Wemby is locked in at 1. Scoot is locked in at no worse than 3. Miller is locked in no worse than 4. Nothing new there.
Where it gets interesting, perhaps in a bad way for Magic fans, is the next five or so picks after the top 3-4.
The Thompson Twins, Whitmore and Walker all seem to be locked in as top 10 players, perhaps even top 8 players.
None of those four guys are players that anyone on this board would be over the moon to draft based on the last 100+ pages of discussion.

I remember complaining for weeks after we drafted Franz this same sentiment. Watching this Gradey kid the few times I have, he is a maestro off the ball, dude shoots like Steph incarnate, and actually appears could become a plus defender. What more could you want?

Vecenie mentions the increased value of wings. We could grab another and make it work. Whitmore could slide into that combo forward role, Walker into that combo big role. Ausar could slide into a swing-man role. Amen could take over PG duties. Which is all to say I wouldn't have a terrible time accepting any of these picks.

Over under on us drafting the twin boys?
