So if we end up landing Paul, will you help me change my sig to CP3 instead of CB4?

I doubt the Pacers do that.

just tossing this out there to see if there are any thoughts regarding this to see if any quality discussion/speculation can come of it:

with possible cp3 combos listed in this thread and the perceived thinness at the 2, do you think the late addition of andy rautins to the draft workout lends any validity to this rumor?

I don't think it has anything to do with the rumors...just the fact that he is one of the best shooters in the draft.

I also don't think we are too thin at the 2. If we bring in Paul, we have our play maker. We don't need another one at the 2. JJ starting and Peaches off the bench is great to me.

I like JJ and I think with CP3 + D12 would be a good for him to start in that lineup.

the couple of trades mentioned here are assuming we'd send them gortat.

The fanhouse article reports that the names rumored are VC and meer for cp3 and posey. we know this won't work, but perhaps the rest of the deal involves peaches is for wahtever reason hornets don't want gortat, keep okafur, and are soley interested in freeing themselves up as fast as possible and building with all budget players/draft. We really don't know the details of how the hornets debt is affecting the sale and what is really motivating shinn. Maybe they've already have something in the works with someone else to move okafur alone for some cheaper pieces. and a vc, nelson, peaches deal with magic gives them best return for their point, plus still being able to dump salary after a year.
so if pietrus is a chip in this, and otis is seriously discussing this/thinking about it over the weekend, it makes sense at the last minute to add a mature, 3-drilling 2, with decent assists, hard worker, who's steadily improved season to season to the draft workout. i mean his bbiq has to be an upgrade from peaches.

Hi, I understand you do these graphics online? could you help me put the faces of Magic players on the heads of all the guys who drive around in the jeep in downtown in the movie zoolander right before they blow up the car at the gas station?

Here's a clip, I would like to do it from twelve seconds to 14 seconds.

This deal doesn't allow NO is drop salary like they've repeatedly stated.

i just don't understand how NO could trade Paul without using him as an opportunity to ship out Okafor's contract as well. i realise that the two of them combined make up 25-30 mil of contracts and would immediately eat into another team's cap space (providing they're under it), but if I'm NO then that's the only reason i ship Paul out. otherwise they're sending their most marketable, most valuable player away for cap relief NEXT season. just doesn't make sense.

and if NO are trading Okafor, then i could imagine they'd want a young, promising C in return (Gortat). so a CP3 + Okafor for VC, Jameer, Gortat deal makes sense to me. if that's not enough then add a Posey for the TPE deal on the side so next season the Hornets have:

Collison/Nelson (6MOTY)
VC
Peja
West
Gortat

VC's, Peja's and West's contracts all come off the books after this season, so that would free NOH of 35-40mil of salary. they'd have a great young PG to build around with Collison, a good, young, cheap C in Gortat, and the best backup PG in the league. Heck, that team still might even compete for a playoff spot!

Orlando on the other hand look like:

Paul/FA
JJ/MP
Lewis/Barnes
Okafor/Bass/Anderson
Howard/Okafor

now, i don't anticipate this lineup at all, just did it to highlight contracts. S/L would be worth about 65mil just on its own. it's expensive, but a championship would make it all worthwhile. who knows, maybe we can parlay Okafor on to the Knicks for Curry's expiring after they're done wheeling in dealing?

there is absolutely no way jameer wins 6th man of the year playing behind collison. he would need to average close to 30 minutes a game in order to put up 6th moty numbers and i don't see that happening. he would certainly provide a nice scoring punch off the bench of when collison will be eating up most of the minutes at the point, jameer's playing time will decrease significantly.

also, i like mp starting over redick at the 2 spot simply because he's a better wing defender and if we move lewis to the 3 we would need that defensive player in the starting lineup and redick simply isn't that guy. i think redick's shooting and bball iq would be better suited coming off the bench.
