No question in my mind. I might do it even without getting Frye. People complain how we have nobody on this team to create their own shot or facilitate the offense. You put Nash alongside Dwight and JRich, and it would be nasty. I love Ryan to death, but Ryan + Dwight isn't gonna get us anywhere. Nash + Dwight might.

if we had Gortat and VC's expiring... we'd probably have CP3 in a Magic uniform at this moment

Frye would have to be included from an Orlando perspective.

One thing to consider: With trading Ryno+JJ for Nash, you've just killed your assets. If Nash gets hurt or (even worse) bolts/retires, you're screwed.

Could look at it as a stop gap til next summer where Dwight could pick his own allstar if we can make other moves to create some cap space.

MagicFan41 wrote:Well, that depends on the point of getting rid of each player. Are you simply trying to clear cap? If so, for who? I believe Duhon can be bought out of his final year for $1mil or something, it isn't fully guaranteed. So we could get rid of him next summer easily (when the FA class is 10x better than this summer). I would prefer to get rid of Jameer for the simple purpose of forcing us to get a better PG. Again, the Duhon/Q contracts are tiny blips. They aren't exactly preventing us from doing anything financially. Bigger fish to fry.

What bigger fish? Baby & JRich? Maybe it's just me, but they both are on very cap friendly deals and could be moved at any time.

Dealing Hedo+Q+Doo-hon with Dwight eliminates essentially all of our bad contracts in one fell swoop. If you don't see the benefit in that, well, then there's really no point in debating.

We're screwed either way. You're either in it to win it or not at all. No one and i mean no one on our team is untradeable. Not if it ultimately makes out team championship contenders.

Well, if the idea is to make a splash in the summer of '13, ridding ourselves of guys like Hedo, Doo, Q and possibly even JRich; that will allow Dwight to recruit his own star and build the team from scratch.

Problem is, you have to employ a GM that maintains direction.

i rather keep ryno unless dwight guarantees to stay. that is the sole scenario aside getting another star.

That's true. But my line of thinking is that we'd be better off with Ellis if GS is willing to bite on a package centered around Ryno+JJ.

If not, you have to take Nash provided PHX is on board with the deal.

That's how i feel as well. I don't think we HAVE to trade him for Nash, but if it comes down to it what do you do? Ryan isn't gonna make us contenders this year, and while i want to keep him real bad, we have a super star to keep. IF Dwight leaves then so be it you tried your best.

My friend who works with the cameras texted me and said "Dwight wins MVP and announces he's staying in Orlando?" I replied "legit or your guess?" and he said "people are saying it. Take it with a grain of salt. Will keep you updated"

Unlikely in my opinion but just thought I'd post some positivity lol

Troll of the year award will go to Dwight... and my mind would be sh*tting bricks

I refuse to believe it and it's very unlikely but it would be historic

We are down to 4 players IMO we have a shot a 3 of the 4, in no particular order. Nash, Ellis, Jackson, Sessions.

1. I would love Nash. But at the right price. Otis has been known to overpay for a player passed his prime.

2. Dwight>>Bynum and Gasol. If it looks like he's not going to Brooklyn, I'd roll the dice to compete with Dallas. He'd need a huge paycut to play there with D-Will.
