I've been saying that since day 1..... These posters don't understand that since they were so high on stealing Ellis for peanuts a week ago... Ellis + Lee for Dwight + Hedo all day.

Let me put this in perspective for you. So you are loosing dwight as a team, of whom you were not able to build around, AND you are gonna be taking Miami, Chi or OKC down with **** lopez as your center piece?

those are not celtics you know, these teams are young and they are only gonna get better. If we start rebuilding today, do you think a lousy 12th pick will make a difference?

Loose Dwight and it is over for the next 6 years.

And if Monta doesn't work out, he's a FA soon. AND Lee can be moved easily. He is a 20/10 PF. If Howard walks and we get nothing, I will be disgusted beyond belief.

I'd still prefer Bynum. Don't yell at me...I'd keep Dwight if he wanted to stay. I don't like his character but I care more about what is happening on the basketball court. Outside of his defensive effort, this has been Dwights best season yet in terms of skill. But it seems pretty crystal clear right now...he is gone.

Also I'm just going to be honest... I think Dwight might be "leading" the Orlando ownership on (tactic used by agents and PR for athletes to get a more desirable outcome)... I think Dwight saw what Melo is going through (joining a depleted Knicks team that got rid of Gallinari, Wilson, Felton, etc.)

Dwight imo wants Lopez and Brooks to still be with the Nets. I honestly don't think Dwight wants to be here (He loves the community and city; but not the team... he's making decisions for his life, his family, and his career that are beyond just winning imo... it's more than just basketball with him). He made the trade request [which Otis blabbed to the world] immediately after the Chris Paul to Lakers deal got shot down by league owners... it came out that same night/midnight after the LAL/Hou/NOH deal was nixed (thankfully). And I think that was Dwight's initial plan; to join Kobe and CP3 in LA. Then the back-up plan was Brooklyn and Deron.

I have other reasons to believe Dwight will walk away this summer leaving us with nothing, but I can't mention it unfortunately (because I don't want to anger anyone out there, but I'm sure you guys have similar ideas or theories. I feel like I have a certainty that Dwight is leaving; I've felt that way since early January). I like Martins, he's a good guy, but if he can't sell snow to an Eskimo this summer, Dwight is gone... and it's very difficult to convince somebody to choose otherwise, who's mind has already been made up secretly imo.

I see the scenarios where he could opt in for one year and then The Magic could have some capspace. The deccision is Dwight's though and I just feel Dwight is gone.

He does not want to Chicago because "It's too cold".

Are you kidding me?

What the hell does he expect in Brooklyn?

Even though there still might be a chance, it's over. I'm sorry but it is.

^^^^even with Howard/Deron/Lopez/Marshon....is that better than Miami or Chi? I am not so sure. Howard will realize Deron is selfish and he will not like Avery Johnson plus NY media will make him cry plus playing second fiddle to the Knicks. I am shocked he doesn't want the Knicks...that would feed his ego more. I saw it mentioned but it does make sense that he would sign with Nj as FA they will resign Lopez around 10 - 12 mill and trade him for Josh Smith.

I also think that this seasons success so far with all the drama that SVG and the other players are not getting any credit for it. That is a shame...

If the goal is the nba finals, then gambling on keeping the dwight is the only chance we got. in this light, trading him away short of a top 15 player is no different than letting him walk.

there have been a lot of players who tested free agency, but still signed with their own teams.

You are forgetting the top 5 pick in this draft they will have as well so either add A. Davis or Kidd Gil to that lineup and they do IMO

DWill
Brooks
Kidd Gil
Lopez
Dwight

is a top 3 seed for sure

Complete scrubdom is our best path to the top. Nothing short or Lebron will make for a good trade. The only good trade we can make is to trade Dwight to Boston along with our trash for KG and Ray's expirings. Anything short of that is just prolonging the inevitable. Treading water doesn't work in the NBA. The current system rewards sucktitude, so we need to be bad for at least a year. Winning 45 games and getting crushed in the first round by Chicago is not a better fate than winning 25 games and being in the lottery. I'm sorry.

just to add some additional reports of dwight's "character", this was posted on TBN a while back by a courtside season ticket holder.

It's blatantly obvious how mental and delusional Dwight is. I sit close enough at the games to see and hear all of the court talk. I've sat in the same seats since he was a rookie and have seen him morph into who he is today, and it has become scary/sad. It started in the 2008 season with the eye rolls when Van Gundy didn't call his number in the 4th quarter, even though the play would be successful and we would win. He can't restrain himself and focus more than 10 seconds (except when he is shooting free throws). I've seen him almost go into the stands because 1 fan was calling him a bum, after the Game 1 loss to the Sixers in '09, literally being held back from pulling an Artest.

He thinks he knows it all, and blames Otis (I'm not sticking up for Otis). I know for a fact that Dwight went to Otis and Van Gundy in the Finals and demanded that Jameer play because that was his brother. Then last year I could see him boiling on the court at Vince, Rashard, Gortat and JJ anytime they made the slightest mistake. He would complain to them the same way he would at the refs. So, we got rid of the bums for him. Gil was a player that Dwight wanted, and we got him. Its easy to go behind the scenes and demand certain moves and then when they don't work out, say "I want out, they haven't done what I wanted." After a couple of weeks, even during win streaks, he would be yelling at Gil, Turk, and Richardson because things weren't going his way.

This year is an absolute joke and Van Gundy, and the rest of the team (up until this past week) should be given a medal for putting up with him. Dwight goes to the media and cries that Van Gundy needs to be nicer, and now he is this new born leader and knows what it takes to win. Then, our first home game this year I could hear the awful, cancer creating jabs he would say to his teammates. "Give me the ****ing ball man, geez," "stop shootin so much," "come on man, I don't care if you were open." Etc. He has and always will be the negative guy on the floor. Complaining non stop. It is cancerous and distracting.

So we should be happy that he is going to leave the team. We will finally be able to become a real team again. Wherever Dwight goes, it will only be a matter of time before he starts to complain again, and act like he knows everything.

http://truebluenation.com/forum/index.p ... ntry658651

and another courtside story

Here is a little inside story I just got.

For those who don't know, I sit low enough to hear and see all of the players interactions. Well, last night I didn't go to the game but my friend who we share seats with did. He is friends with some people, who know some people. Anyway, he and Jack (he is high up, and I'll name protect him in case he didn't want his name out) were in the Club at the Arena, when Dwight's bodyguard came walking in. They know eachother from here and there and started to talk a little bit. Obviously the Dwight staying/going came up and the Bodyguard said flat out "don't believe everything you hear, Dwight wants to stay, he really does." So they countered with well, why doesn't he just say so and whats the deal, etc? Again the bodyguard said he wanted to stay but there were some things that have started to get Dwight mad. He spelled it all out:

Over the summer, prior to Dwight asking for the trade, he flew up to Grand Rapids to meet with DeVos about how he felt. He also had a few minor (I see them as immature but subtle) demands. 1- he wanted Deron Williams and/or Stephen Jackson/Monta Ellis (everyone knows this). 2- he wanted his personal trainer to be allowed to travel with the team and himself. This is something that DeVos, for whatever reason denied him of. Then Dwight said he wanted to change some small tedious stuff, like when he got flown to the All Star Game last year, the Magic flew him on their sponsor airline; Air Tran or Jet Blue, instead of on a Jet like the rest of the All Stars got. He said he wanted to be treated like all of the other "Stars" in the league pretty much.

So, my friend and *Jack, (much like all of you now) said minus Williams/Jackson/Ellis, that sounded dumb and easily attainable. The bodyguard stated again that if the Magic got another any all-star style player and some things changed that Dwight would stay. *Jack is personal friends with DeVos, who was at the game last night, and asked if he could share this little story. The Bodyguard said "you can tell anybody you would like." So, *Jack went straight to DeVos himself at the game and started telling him what he had just heard. DeVos nodded the entire time and said that was an accurate story.

So there you have it, straight from both sides.

that's the stuff i'm talking about GM's being worried about. I'm sure the stuff staff and GM's and league insiders hear and know about players goes way beyond what fans would get to see. that's what i mean when i say he's a cancer. this type of stuff from your best player and a guy who claims to be your leader is abhorrent. character is what you do when you think nobody is watching.

and if you're thinking "well he's an all star obviously he should get a private jet", is that something worth doing all of this for? putting your team and your community "our city" through all of this? it's "my city" when the allstar game is here and it is fun. it's pretty clear this team is dedicated to winning and trying to do it, nobody's perfect. it's not like we haven't "gone in" for cp3 and signed him max free agents that got us to the finals etc. just because he is in this position now is he really saying "get my guys or i'm gone" knowing what we can realistically get right now? if he stays i'll be glad because his talent obviously makes our team better and gives us contention hopes, if he leaves i won't be sad. this is all really fascinating from a management standpoint, decision making, and how we will deal with this impossible situation.
