When a source says something you like, they're the best. When that source says something negative, they're the biggest moron ever. Don't forget J.Rudolph broke the ETO waiver story. He's not as futile as you all make him out to be.

I didn't say futile...I said this string of tweets pissed me off, because it wasn't accurate.

What was inaccurate? The other elite teams we competed against (LAL,BOS) stayed Championship caliber while having tons of trade assets (Bynum, Pau, Rondo, Odom)...

We on the other hand, fell from elite-ness and have no tradable assets to make a big splash... Meanwhile, teams like NJ, NY & LAC were competent enough to have a plan and are a force to be reckoned with.... heck even ATL is in position for a bright future... Meanwhile Dwight is litterly the one thing on this team sepetaring us from Playoff team and Lottery team. No other team has a single player that makes such a disparity... It's a joke what this F.O has done with our team.

I don't have an issue with Dwight seeing the benefits of going one of the two biggest markets in the NBA. The exposure is there if nothing else, and he craves the attention. What I don't like about Jarrod's tweets is it doesn't tell the whole story. BK is improving their team, why can't you do that? Well they had cap space this year that is why. They didn't have that last year, and they sucked last year. Deron gave them a year of sucking to be in this position they are in now. Has Dwight given us a year to take a small step back and suck so we don't add contracts and have cap and a good pick as well so we can reload and make another run? No. He wants the win-now moves that we tried and when they don't work he pouts and wants to jump ship. Oh, and those moves were co-signed by him too.

As far as LA, that is a different kind of beast. NO ONE saw Nash coming because that was a special favor done for Nash by his FO. The lakers are favored, because that is not their first gift (pau anyone?). Nothing anyone can do about that, but you can't really give their FO credit for that deal when the suns were offered Nash. What, were they going to turn it down?

I read this to mean, he just wants the favor and the big stage. I don't really respect it, but I don't hate on it. Problem is he is placing fault for us simply being us. We aren't a major market and the media don't shine the light on us. I just wish he had not sold pipe dreams all this time of a future like in that commercial. I wish he had never said he would never be like Shaq and he wanted to retire here. He didn't have to talk about any of that at all. He talks about broken promises made to him, but he made and broke plenty also, and he ignores that and acts as if we did him wrong. Nothing has changed about Orlando in terms of what we want to do. He just has changed his view on how he thinks it should be done and wants it all, INSTANTLY. It doesn't work that way.

That's the problem in Orlando, it's been the problem for years. They're making no moves or the wrong moves. That's not on the players.
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
How can anyone honestly say the Magic can offer Dwight a better chance to win than Brooklyn or the Lakers?
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
So how can anyone be upset at Dwight, or any player, that asks to be moved to a better situation? You're not mad at GMs that trade players.
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
It's a business. I understand the emotional investment, but fans must stop personalizing a player's decision. It blurs the lines.

He's wrong in that we're not mad at the old GM. But other than that, he's not wrong. His words are an obvious reflection of how Dwight feels and it's disappointing that he's more interested in "joining a winner" than "building a winner". I thought Dwight was different, but I fooled myself.

The biggest truth that hurts is that he's right about the 2 teams going after him have made improvements to get better, while the Magic, even when getting a new GM, has only made FA moves that keep us the same mediocre team that we have been. Absolutely NO attempt at finding better players in FA. Settling in with what we had when what we had was a known loser. Jameer Nelson is shat. Why didn't we trade Redick for a valuable asset? Sure, we still can... but the timing to do it is CRITICAL. Dwight wants to see improvements NOW. What's next? Probably matching the Kings offer to Ryan Anderson. Big whoop. I can't wait to stay in cap hell.

Sounds like Jarrod has decided to take Dwight's side of things now. Hard to argue that in the past moves have not worked out, but it's rather shortsighted to say the team hasn't made moves in the past to try and improve. Signing 'Shard, regardless of it being a bad contract, was a key to us making the finals. Was Otis stupid for trading for Vince, and then more stupid to trade for JRich and Hedo? Sure. But it wasn't for lack of effort to improve.

These tweets sort of piss me off. Looking at one offseason as the justificiation for a year of whining from Dwight...just unrealistic. Not to mention, we're not done. Rob is just getting warmed up.

Rudolph could not be more WRONG.
In fact, these comments make Rudolph one of the most mis-informed people I've read in a while.

It IS NOT a business to the millions of fans who pour their money into teams hands for the rights to cheer on their favorite team. It is not a business when a father takes his young son to his very first game in the hopes of sparking the same sense of fandom that he has felt for decades.

It is not a business when every member of a city's well-being hangs in the balance as the last second shot in an elimination game soars towards the rim - the outcome of the game hanging in the balance.

It is the fans who buy the tickets, buy the TV packages, buy the jerseys. It is the fans who PAY THE PLAYERS AND THE OWNERS AND THE SPONSORS. Without them, there is nothing. Fans don't do it because they are investing in a business, they do it because they are looking for a common bond of civic pride to root for.

The players have lost site of it. The owners have lost site of it. The tipping point isn't too far away when people realize, "why am I spending all of my money on these guys who only care about their sponsorships and endorsements and branding".

The new trend of superstars leaving teams is a bad one for the NBA. The repercussions will be felt in the not-too-distant future if it continues.

Rudolph is an idiot for not seeing the bigger picture.

Sorry, but that is only true for the fans of teams who don't get it. You are right, the game has changed. The good teams who get it, have put themselves in position to win and keep their fans. The reason you think it's at a tipping point is because you are about to lose Dwight Howard. Miami fans and Lakers fans aren't having the same mentality. Those teams saw the big picture. The stupid teams are chasing wins when they have no chance at winning the title. Spending their cap space on mediocre talent just so they can say they have a capable starter. Like we just did with Jameer. Instead of getting a superstar or putting themselves in position to get one, the Magic showed they don't get it yet.

There are a finite number of superstars in the league. Every team cannot have a superstar, especially these days when the few superstars we have are teaming up. Small market teams have no way to attract a superstar unless they draft one or happen to be the hometown of a superstar who wants to come home.

I think the problem here is that people are waiting for a trade that would've already happened by now had Otis still been here. Championship-caliber teams like the Spurs and Thunder don't make impulsive trades under pressure from the media ala Otis. Instead, they carefully weigh out options and evaluate every possible scenario in regard to the way it affects the franchise going forward. People are like "omg its been over a year lets trade this d-bag!!!!", when in reality the guy calling the shots has only been around to evaluate for less than a month? C'mon guys. The bad men are gone, now support the guy who everyone of you lobbied for.

We're all tired of the drama that has been here for awhile now. This one season felt like it went on forever. We're all just ready for it to end.

Although, I do agree with you. On one hand, I don't want us to rush and I want us to take our time and find a nice trade. On the other hand, I want this over with now.

Which makes you just as selfish as Dwight. It's all about me. Not what's best for the team, but what's best for me. SMH.
